Recycling is important for several reasons. It helps conserve natural resources like trees, water and landfill space. Recycling plastic bottles, batteries, paper, bags, glass bottles, tin/aluminum cans, electronics, cloth/fabrics, wood, concrete and styrofoam reduces pollution and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change. Items like plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans can be recycled and remade into new products in an ongoing closed-loop process. Hazardous materials in batteries and electronics must be disposed of properly through recycling to protect the environment.

2. Why is recycling important? Recycling is good because it helps the earth. If you recycled paper less trees will be cut down and energy will be saved . 60 % of water that makes paper will also be saved. Recycling also helps global warming. By recycling more of the earth's recourses will be saved. Recycling other thing like batteries are good for the environment because all the bad chemicals will not harm our environment. If you recycle plastic bottles, you will also get 5 cents for each plastic bottles you recycle. There will also be less trash on the earth.

4. Why do we have to recycle these things? Plastic Bottles There are some things that YOU get if you recycle Plastic Bottles. Did you ever notice the "Ca 5 cents" sign on the plastic bottles? That means that if you recycle it, then you can get five cents for each bottle! You can recycle it at Safeway. I know that to you five cents are not very much, but once you collect lots of bottles, they can turn into many dollars. Now it's more and you can buy cool items when you have money... Another easy way to "recycle" plastic bottles is to reuse the bottles again and again! Easy! Batteries Recycling batteries are good for the environment. If you just throw batteries in the trash can, then that is bad for the environment. Batteries include a harmful chemical called "Mercury". This chemical is bad for the environment.

5. Continuation…… Bags Recycling bags are good for the environment. Some people just throw them out in the open. Maybe a plastic bag may fly out into the open. Then, an animal might choke or suffocate on the plastic bag because it might think it is food. Paper Well, of course you know why to recycle paper. What are paper made of? Trees. And if you recycle paper, what do you save and conserve? Trees! You also save the water used to make the paper. Glass Bottles When you recycle glass bottles or glass, the glass will get molded to new bottles! So the glass bottles that you drink(if they are glass) are made of used glass!

6. Continuation2….. Tin and Aluminum Cans Just like glass, they reuse these too!!! Electronics People should recycle electronics because of the toxic chemicals that are found in some components of a computer. In some places, you can't just throw the electronic objects like computers and cell phones away in the trash can. Cloth and Fabrics When you recycle this, people working at the recycling center sort fabric that can be reused, to bad, damaged cloth

7. Continuation3 …… Wood When you recycle waste wood, they turn it into usable things. After, they sell it to people again. Concrete If you recycle these things, then they will be crushed and used again to make other things like construction. Styrofoam If you recycle Styrofoam, they will be crushed and made back into cheap Styrofoam.
