Heavy Equipment Operator:
Possess 3+ years of experience as a maintenance worker on 58,600 acre range complex. Repair
road surfaces in excess of 191 miles which supports 2.5 million truck driver miles annually, while
operating a variety of automotive, engineering, and materials handling equipment. On a daily basis,
perform maintenance, repairs and sustainment on 27 live fire ranges and 33 demo ranges. Live fire:
maintained 9 electronic ranges consisting of NGATS (N.G.A.T.S) system, repairs consisting of
maintaining target berm protection, renovation and repair of firing lines, repair to 33 training areas
and 6 demo areas, mowing, tree removal, ditch repair and road upgrades. Non-live fire: designed
and rebuilt target frames, shoot house walls and overhead fire protection. Handle loading,
unloading, and delivering equipment and supplies to specified destinations. Operate mechanized
apparatus in connection with receiving, shipping, and warehousing operations. Operate all classes
and types of motor vehicles, including passenger cars, trucks of all sizes and capacities, and tractor
trailers, various engineering equipment such as road graders, crawler-type tractors with bulldozer or
angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoe, trencher, etc., to perform cutting, grading, digging,
compacting, excavating, and leveling earth, sand, stone, and other materials. Operate various types
of heavy equipment to build backstop and lane dividing impact berms in order to insure SDZ
(Surface Danger Zones) regulations are met. Operate gasoline, diesel or electric powered fork lift
truck, while moving cargo to positions in buildings, outside storage areas, or loading ramps or while
loading or unloading supplies and/or equipment from various types of transportation vehicles.
Transport, by operation, the full range of equipment, e.g., bulldozers, graders, wheeled cranes, farm

for the handling of material. Perform rigging tasks required in of a variety of large and heavy
equipment and machinery. Perform various aspects of range construction, including berm
construction, repair and maintenance, insurance of proper range drainage, fence building, and
DefenCell construction. Perform grass mowing, seeding, fertilizing, trimming, brush removal and
land clearing. Follow hand signals made by personnel on the floor, operates a bridge crane to lift,

and install complex rigging gear to object being lifted, maneuvered or positioned. Maintain roads
and grounds and perform other operations relative to earth trenching and material movement.
Grade surfaces to rough or fine specifications on all types of terrain. Remove snow, clear fire lanes,
and clear doorways and driveways. Adjust equipment attachments for proper positioning and work
order while equipment is in operation, using clutches, levers, brakes, and valves. Has 3 years
S.N.A.I.R (SNAIR- Snow and Ice Removal) experience. Perform tornado and severe weather debris
removal and range repair on Fort Leonard Wood.
