To whom it may concern
Francesco Portigliotti has been a volunteer at Bràskovgàrd Efterskole, Denmark, from October 19 till
December 18th 2014.
An Efterskole is a boarding-school for teenagers in the Grundtvig tradition. It has strong values concerning
ways of learning, the equality between people and togetherness as in being a small community.
At our school Francesco has taken part in English-, Singing-, Riding- and Music-lessons and lessons with the
10th Grade in what we cali Cultural Education.
Also, he has helped out during tests, contributed to the making of a Multiart Festival and more important -
he has played a major role in making our students feel that the speaking of English can be a naturai part of
an everyday life, even when you live in Denmark. He has been most eager in connecting with the students
in many ways: through dance lessons, film watching, playing pool or the piano, ali the time making sure
that he would include ali the students in this English-speaking "society" or community.
He has been wanting to understand why some students react the way they do and no doubt he will have
come very dose to some of them. I think some of them regard him as a friend.
Amongst the staff we have come to know Francesco to be a very curious, kind and gentle man who insists
on being of use to something or somebody. He is eager to learn new ways and eager to examine his own
being in connection with a new and "strange" setting.
