1. The trip we went on, thanks to an
Erasmus project, to Kavala in May 2019
was full of experiences and learning.
That’s us: Ester Marella, Syria Albrici,
Camilla Pagani, Melissa Federici and Sara
Maffioletti from Istituto Falcone in
Palazzolo sull’Oglio, Italy. On 13th May we
flew to Greece and spent five days
together.
We had the opportunity to meet new
people, enjoy unique experiences, learn
something about the Greek culture and
improve our English. Thanks to the
language diversity we could take
advantage of our English proficiency,
practice and learn new things. The best
thing of being independent, was that we
could practice and test our English real
time.
This journey definitely made us
experience a lot of new things such as
food, which is very different from ours in
Italy, as being hosted helped us discover
many traditional dishes. We had the
chance to know the habits of the families,
and we complied with their routine, from
waking up to going to bed, we talked to
and socialized with the hosting families,
the Greeks and other foreign students. On
the first day, for example, we went to
school, and met all the Erasmus
participants, each group presented its
work and listened to the other ones.
Another thing we loved were the places we
went to: the beautiful sea, the nearby
islands we reached by boat, the city center
and other little towns near Kavala. There
were a lot of attractions, things to do,
places to eat, stores and cafes.
Apart from what we did, where we went
and what we ate, the best thing was the
whole experience itself, staying abroad
and far from home for a week, socializing
and making new friends, taking a break
from our everyday life, having fun and
sharing knowledge with new people. This
experience helped us get to know each
other better, make friends and become
2. attached to our teachers and other
students.
It was an amazing experience that
everyone should try once in a lifetime, we
were very lucky to participate in it and we
hope we will join other Erasmus projects
in the future.
