This document summarizes a section of the Gospel of Luke where Jesus teaches that one must receive the Kingdom of God like a child to enter it. When asked what one must do to inherit eternal life, Jesus tells a ruler that he must sell all his possessions and give to the poor. Some find this difficult, but Jesus says it is impossible for man but possible with God. He predicts his death and resurrection. The review encourages faith over works and following Jesus over material things. It ends with an invitation to admit one's sin, repent, believe in Jesus, and receive Him as Lord and Savior.
There are some very special people in scripture that were particularly favored by God. Mary, the mother of Jesus was called "Favored One" by Gabriel and indeed she was. What about Enoch and Elijah who escaped death and went straight to heaven? What about Jesus, the unique son of God? What about you?
Jesus’ Last 100 Days_The Rich Young RulerStephen Palm
In this fourth sermon in the series, Jesus' Last 100 Days we look at Jesus' one-on-one encounter with a man who walked away from Jesus because he couldn't let go of his wealth. We will explore how the love of wealth can create a roadblock to faith and how to move past that roadblock and other roadblocks to faith.

Last week we said everyone is welcome in the kingdom of God yet Jesus often makes distinctions about who's in it and warns of the perils of missing it. Are you in God's kingdom? This may be the most important question you've ever asked yourself.
It is the responsibility of each Christian to share their faith with whomever they can. This is the mission of the Christian. And it is not an impossible one.

Jesus shows us that our good deeds can't make us righteous before God (the proud pharisee). We must be humble, repent of our sins, and be declared righteous by God's mercy (the tax collector).

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

[15] Now they were bringing even infants
to him that he might touch them. And
when the disciples saw it, they rebuked
them.
[16] But Jesus called them to him,
saying, “Let the children come to me,
and do not hinder them, for to such
belongs the kingdom of God.
[17] Truly, I say to you, whoever does not
receive the kingdom of God like a child
shall not enter it.”
3. Luke 18:18-20
[18] And a ruler asked him, “Good
Teacher, what must I do to inherit
eternal life?”
[19] And Jesus said to him, “Why do
you call me good? No one is good

he became very sad, for he was
extremely rich.
5. Luke 18:24-26
[24] Jesus, seeing that he had
become sad, said, “How difficult it is
for those who have wealth to enter the
kingdom of God!
[25] For it is easier for a camel to go
through the eye of a needle than for a
rich person to enter the kingdom of
God.”
[26] Those who heard it said, “Then
who can be saved?”
6. Luke 18:27-29
[27] But he said, “What is impossible
with men is possible with God.”
[28] And Peter said, “See, we have left
our homes and followed you.”

to you, there is no one who has left

“See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and
everything that is written about the Son of
Man by the prophets will be accomplished.
