1) Jesus tells a rich man that he must sell all his possessions and give the money to the poor in order to have treasure in heaven and follow him. The man, who was sad to give up his great wealth, walked away. 2) Jesus tells his disciples how difficult it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God, likening it to a camel passing through the eye of a needle. When the disciples are amazed, Jesus says that while impossible for man, all things are possible with God. 3) Jesus says that those who give up possessions and family to follow him will receive rewards both in the present age and eternal life, reversing the expectations of wealth and position attached to being rich.
