DESIGNING DOCUMENTS, SLIDES, AND
SCREENS
I learned how to design appropriate documents, follow
guidelines for appropriately designed slides, and to use
the serif font for the bulk of the information written
because it makes the document easier to read.
FINDING, ANALYZING, AND DOCUMENTING
INFORMATION
Although I already knew how to find information, this
module taught me how to make search engines work
more effectively. I never knew about searching with
quotation marks or that capitalizing a word could bring
up in a search.
ASSIGNMENTS LINKED TO LEARNING
In Writing Assignment 3, I had to find and analyze information about
FGCU’s goals and missions. I also had to research some books
that I could recommend for the OCOB initiative. I did not have to
document my findings in a works cited page, but I have had
experience with doing that from other assignments from other
classes.
The Voki Discussion forum had to do with designing a Voki. I think
that Module 5 did have some impact on my creativity of my Voki,
but it wasn’t directly a document.
THE INFORMATION IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE
Knowing the effective ways of designing professional documents is
important because if you have too much writing or the wrong colors in a
presentation, your audience will become bored and uninterested in the
presentation and will not listen to what you have to say.
Finding credible sources with reliable authors is important because if I was
to use a source that is not credible, I could be relaying information that is
not correct to others.
REAL WORLD USES
I will use my knowledge of designing documents in other
assignments throughout my college career.
I will make the goal of improving the appearances of documents and
it will be achieved by practicing and asking people for feedback.
I will always use a credible source in my documents when I need to
reference information that I do not have knowledge of. This will
happen in future papers and presentations along with in my
future career when I am talking to employees.
