Jeff King is a musher from California who has run the Iditarod four times, winning it four times. However, in 2014 at age 58 he scratched from the race. Gary Paulsen also ran the Iditarod three times but was only able to finish once before having to quit due to heart disease caused by mushing. Both mushers ran the race multiple times and had beards while racing, but King was able to continue racing while Paulsen had to retire.
