Beowulf was born a Geat of Scandinavian descent and known for his immense strength and bravery. He traveled to help King Hrothgar by killing the monster Grendel with his bare hands. Later, he defeated Grendel's mother. In his final act of heroism as an old king, Beowulf was mortally wounded fighting a dragon but succeeded in killing the beast before dying.

good in him.

23.  Goku achieved super saiyan 1 in his battle with Frieza
 Becoming a super saiyan is the ultimate achievement,
and increases strength and speed exponentially. Vegeta
becomes distraught that he, a prince, cannot match a
simple Saiyan such as Goku.
 Vegeta eventually achieves Super Saiyan as well, before
the Cell Saga

24.  Vegeta was brought back to life by the magical Dragon
Balls after Goku defeated Frieza
 Vegeta never stopped wanting to defeat Goku, but he
did begin helping the Z-Fighters protect the Earth.

25.  As Vegeta becomes more and more accustomed to life
on Earth, he starts a family with Bulma, and has a son
named Trunks.

26.  Vegeta is consumed by the hope of defeating Goku
 A new threat rises during the Buu Saga, in which the
wizard Bobidi manipulates the evil in warrior’s hearts.
 Vegeta is so driven by pride that he allows Bobidi to
reawaken his evil, although
Vegeta is the first to still
maintain control over his
actions. He completely
ignores Bobidi’s commands
and chooses to fight Goku.

27.  Goku and Vegeta must stop their battle in order to
fight Buu, the new evil. Vegeta lets go of his pride in
order to fight for his family. He also overcomes Bobidi’s
influence, instead choosing to fight Buu.

28.  Vegeta sacrifices himself to defeat Buu. He fights, for
the very first time, for others. He hugs his son, and
blows up Majin Buu along with himself. He has finally
become a hero.

 After 12 years of terror, Beowulf defeats Grendel by
ripping off his arm.
 Grendel flees, and eventually dies. Beowulf has
achieved what was beyond all men.

37.  After killing Grendel, Grendel’s mother attacked Herot
 Beowulf pledged to follow and kill Grendel’s mother
 He was forced to travel to the bottom of the murky
lake, and battle her in the “underworld” of the epic

38.  After a long battle, Beowulf must use a giant’s sword to
defeat Grendel’s mother
 He kills her by cutting off her head with the huge sword.
He then finds Grendel’s body and takes the head
 Beowulf returns to the surface bearing Grendel’s head and
the hilt of the giant sword

39.  After saving Herot twice, much time passes before
Beowulf’s next great challenge
 Beowulf has become a king, and his people have been
plagued by a Dragon.
 Along with Wiglaf and some other men, Beowulf, now
much older, goes to confront this new enemy

dragon, Beowulf is mortally
