Scheme Manager
Principle Accountabilities:
Daily management of expanding HO team, active
involvement in promotion and responsibility for
sale of courses
1. Managing the creating, and maintaining, of
up to date lists of ALL schools and school
contacts in 32 London boroughs and
assigning each to a scheme.
2. Planning and managing a marketing and
communications programme that ensures
all schools across all 32 London boroughs
receive appropriate information about
Straight Talking services
3. Personally dealing with customer
complaints
4. Planning for and managing the year’s
training, recruitment and staff development
campaigns to reach annual targets
5. Planning and managing a marketing and
communications programme that promotes
recruitment and is aligned with Straight
Talking’s social media policy.
6. Managing all LSC and PE’s ensuring they
meet basic standards of employment at
Straight Talking and develop to expand
their knowledge, skills and abilities.
7. To be fully aware of contractual obligations
between Straight Talking and the LSC and
PE teams including statutory requirements
regarding health, safety, fire.
8. Taking an active part in contributing to the
Straight Talking business and undertake
other tasks as necessary
Main Duties:
o Planning for and managing the
meeting of all targets for course
delivery, the number of pupils
reached and evaluations.
o Managing all LSC’s through the
school booking processes, the
client relation’s processes and the
booking of Peer Educators.
o Managing the scheduling of
courses and Peer Educators and
maintaining relevant calendar
appointments
o Maintaining quality control over
course booking and delivery
processes
o Managing the maintenance of
course curriculums and materials
o Forging partnerships with
complimentary organizations to
promote course awareness, course
delivery, and recruitment
o Managing all LSC’s through the
recruitment process
o Manage the scheduling of shifts of
all LSC’s and PE’s including the
keeping of accurate time sheets
o Ensure the LSC team have 10
minute daily briefings every
morning and a weekly recorded
briefing and de-briefing meeting.
o Ensure that all PE’s have some
engagement with HO every month
through training development,
staff meetings, phone calls, emails
or social media
o Ensure all work by LSC’s and PE’s
is sufficiently planned and
professionally executed
o Recognise in your team where
skills are insufficient to do their
job properly and take steps to
rectify this
Scheme Coordinator
2. Principle Accountabilities:
Management and training of Peer Educators
from your local scheme. Ensuring reliability of
peer educators and coordination of peer
educators and courses for your scheme.
Ensuring that Straight Talking has the
appropriate number of peer educators and
schools to deliver its targets, including assisting
with other schemes where needed.
1. To ensure that our Peer Education services
are delivered to a high quality to meet
schools’ requirements. To ensure that all
projects are delivered to a high standard
and within budget.
2. Taking an active part in contributing to
Straight Talking business.
3. Negotiating fees with schools to add to the
charity’s income.
4. Ensure that Straight Talking is compliant
with employment regulations, Child
Protection and Equality & Diversity and
any potential issues are resolved quickly
and effectively.
5. Ensure that all young parents employed by
Straight Talking are encouraged to
progress as far as possible through
education and training.
Main Duties:
• School Booking Management:
o Booking schools.
o Arranging and attending meetings.
o Evaluations
o Booking Peer Educators onto
schools.
o Cover Sessions when necessary.
o Writing lesson plans for school
timetables.
• Recruitment of peer educators:
o Networking with local
organisations
o Leaflet drops.
o Applications.
o Conducting Interviews.
o Managing processes.
• Management and support of staff:
o Ensuring all staff has completed
their essential training: Course
Delivery/refresher. Equal
Opportunities, child protection,
classroom management and sexual
health.
o Ensuring all staff have the correct
and updated equipment including
Teacher, Pupil and Ethnicity
Questionnaires.
o Arranging observations & spot
checks.
o Organizing/Delivering staff
meetings.
o Having one to one & appraisals on a
regular basis.
o Conducting Disciplinary when
required.
o Organising the Laser Learning
participants
o Managing complaints and staff
disciplinaries with support from
the SMT
• Information sharing

• Admin:
o Making telephone enquires.
o Inputting and sending
questionnaires, one to ones and
appraisals to head office.

Communication with SMT:
