Plant Manager
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Plant Manager is responsible for all areas of site operations including
safety, manufacturing operations, production planning, procurement, inventory, materials management, logistics,
transportation, warehousing, quality and site engineering. He/she will lead efforts to drive innovative change and
incorporate leading-edge Lean Six Sigma tools, technologies and team-based management practices into all areas of
operations to improve safety, quality, productivity, customer service and satisfaction while reducing overall total
delivered cost. Working within a matrix business unit structure, the Plant Manager will work closely with the Business
Units and Research & Development/Technology in support of the overall innovation, growth and profitability objectives
of the Company.
Responsibilities:
Establish and manage operational objectives, key performance indicators, and standardize business processes
and metrics across the global operations.
Establish an annual productivity plan; track and build contingency plans to meet financial and operational
commitments.
Establish and lead the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement while improving the
overall manufacturing flexibility at the plant site.
Evaluate plant capacity constraints and develop proposals for new or expansion facilities.
Develop and implement a three year capital manufacturing and engineering strategy to achieve lowest cost
manufacturing for chosen product lines and market segments.
Lead Operations in the monthly, quarterly, and annual business operating reviews.
Develop and implement a world class safety program providing leadership within manufacturing to achieve a
significant and sustained improvement in process safety performance.
Collaborate with the Vice President Human Resources to attract, develop and retain key leaders enriching the
overall talent pool.
Align with the Sales organization to integrate the demand plan into a “best in class” sales, inventory, operating
planning cycle with a focus on customer satisfaction and profitability.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related discipline from an accredited College
or University
10+ years' work experience in progressively responsible Operational roles within a continuous production
manufacturing setting
Previous plant management experience leading large teams comprised of direct and indirect reports
Demonstrated success implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, specifically 5S
Strong leadership and change management skills
Effective communication style across all levels of the plant and business
