This document provides an overview of Apache jclouds, an open-source multi-cloud toolkit. It introduces jclouds, lists the compute and storage clouds it supports, and describes its portable APIs and provider-specific implementations. The document then discusses where jclouds fits in application architecture, how it can smooth out rough cloud edges, and provides an example Maven project using jclouds to interface with Rackspace Cloud Servers. It concludes with a potpourri section on jclouds topics.
