2. Accomplishments
Instructed, lectured, facilitated, moderated and coordinated national character education and
leadership training programs for 18 years. Collaborated with 49 state directors to educate over
30,000 educators, legislators, socialservice providers, clergy, civic leaders, parents and youth.
Taught and implemented HIV/AIDS and drug and pregnancy prevention curriculum for teens
in the public schools in Bridgeport Connecticut, North Dakota and Virginia. Advisor and
mentor to students, parents and teachers in helping maintain and recreate this curriculum.
Created and implemented National Parents Day educational curriculum for parents and
educators. Provided seminars, facilitated discussion, prepared curriculum, developed funding,
created a board of directors, oversaw grant writing, served as liaison between government,
social service organizations and schools, lobbied Capitol Hill for support, created community
events.
Writer – Researcher - Columnist - New Haven Newspapers – “For your inspiration” – My
weekly column focused on developing creative tools for parents, family and communities to
successfully educateand raise responsible, caring, compassionate and ethical children and
families.
Extensive volunteer counseling, advising and mentoring and teaching experience with the
international refugee community and domestic and international students at UB. Taught
character and family education in China, Korea, Japan and throughout the United States.
