4. What is Javascript ?
The var word (variable) is very much like our math class’ variable, you
representing a placeholder for something else.

5. What is Javascript ?
FOR EXAMPLE:
x = banana
I Really like x
x means banana, so the sentence means:
“I really like banana”

6. What is Javascript ?
FOR EXAMPLE:
x = Broccoli
I Really like x
x means Broccoli, so the sentence means:
“I really like Broccoli”
(or that you are lying, nobody likes Broccoli
:(

to make up a variable, you need first to declare on one, and you are
doing so by typing var

EXAMPLE:
var x = “Broccoli”
document.write(“I really like ”+ x);

var x = “Broccoli”
document.write(“I really like ”+ x);
we declared x by using var, and we print it out to our
webpage by doing so with the document.write word.

EXAMPLE:
var x = “Broccoli”
document.write(“I really like ”+ x);
Note: We are wrapping the Broccoli with a qoutation
mark, to let the javascript know that it is a word (a
string)

if we would like to make an arithmetic problem, we would
have to dump the qoutation mark, and use numbers only.

EXAMPLE:
var x = 1
document.write(2 + x);
output: 3

14. REAL world javascript
WRONG Example :
var x = “1”
document.write(2 + x);
output: 21
because the webpage thinks “1” is a word (qoutation
mark), he will render it without calculation.
