To whom it may concern:
It is my privilege to convey my positive experience working with Jake Nagy for your consideration. I am
an Environmental Program Manager with the Johnson County, KS Department of Health and
Environment and I supervised Mr. Nagy during his seasonal employment as a Hazardous Waste
Technician in the summers of 2014 and 2015. Mr. Nagy quickly learned the technical nuances of the
job, worked hard in a physically demanding environment and was eager to take on special projects.
The Household Hazardous Waste program is a fast paced work environment where we collect, sort and
process chemicals at our facility. Jake understands the importance of safety in a chemical environment
and was quickly trusted to work with little supervision. Jake diligently stayed on top of daily tasks,
problem solving on-the-fly and presenting ideas for constant improvement.
Any project that I assigned to Jake, he would meet with enthusiasm and tackle with precision. Jake also
independently identified a research project to determine if we could start accepting alkaline batteries for
recycling. His passion on the subject of battery recycling emerged and grew and we are now using his
research to implement a new recycling program. Jake also led the charge to research and calculate an
average weight by material categories for daily reuse carts. I truly appreciate Jake’s natural leadership
skills, his initiative and passion for environmental protection.
Jake brings an optimistic attitude to work and raises the morale of his fellow employees with his
positivity. Our organization was grateful to have Jake Nagy as an employee and I believe any
organization would be lucky to have him on their team. He has a bright future ahead of him.
Sincerely,
Julie Davis
