Introduction
 SHREE CEMENT started its journey in the year 19
85 with our first plant of 0.6 MTPA at Beawar. Sin
ce then it has grown to become a multi-unit, multi
-location and the largest cement producer in north
ern India with a total capacity of 6.8 MTPA.
 Shree Cement Limited Registered office & Works i
s located at Beawar (Raj.) & corporate office at Ko
lkata.
 SHREE CEMENT LIMITED is an energy conscious &
environment friendly business organization. Havin
g ten Directors on its board under the chairmanshi
p of Shri B.G. Bangur.
COAL FIRED POWER PLANT
 A coal fired power station is a type of ther
mal power station that produces electricity,
by burning coal to boil water, producing st
eam which drives a steam turbine, which
turns an electric generator.
COAL FIRED POWER PLANT(Cont…)
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
 A coal plant is the main source of air pollution due
to emission of mainly CO2, SO2, & NO2.
 Due to emission of such gases the rate of green hou
se effect is increasing day by day that leads to globa
l warming.
 The coal plant waste is more radioactive than a nucl
ear waste so it causes radiation.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS
(Cont…)
 Coal burning leads to origination of met
hyl mercury that is toxic in nature and h
armful to those who eat freshwater fish.
 It causes Acid Mine Drainage under whic
h pyrite over exposed coal surfaces whe
n comes in contact with water and air th
en it forms sulfuric acid and pollute the
water
E.S.P. AN INTRODUCTION
 MAIN ACCESSORIES:
• Collecting plates:
• Discharge electrode:
E.S.P AS ECOFRIENDLY TOOL
 First of all high DC voltage is applied to
the discharge electrodes by transformer
- rectifier set. This results in to corona f
ormation around the electrode.
 When ash particles comes in contact wit
h this corona they get charged, usually
with negative polarity.
E.S.P AS ECOFRIENDLY TOOL
(Cont…)
 As the collecting plates are positively ch
arged so negatively charged particles wil
l migrate towards the collecting plates.
 Then these plates are hammered via rap
ping system, and particulate get collecte
d in the hoppers.
 This result in to ash free flue gas.

USE OF FLY ASH
 Fly ash is useful for making bricks, tiles
and blocks etc.
 It is also useful in making cement.
 Fly ash can also be used in road constru
ction, plastering on buildings, agriculture
, irrigation etc.
SOME OTHER ALTERNATIVES
 F.G.D.(Flue gas desulphurization):
This plant basically converts the SO2 i
n to gypsum by some chemical processe
s, this gypsum is then used with in the c
ement as setting agent.
FLUE GAS DESULPHURIZATION
SOME OTHER ALTERNATIVES (CO
NT…)
 Fabric filters(bag house):
Gases with dust particles when enter i
n to the bag house and pass through fab
ric bags that act as filters and filtered ou
t and the dust is then collected in to the
hoppers.
SOME OTHER ALTERNATIVES (Co
nt…)
Fresh air
Dusty air
Fabric bags
Dust
