Vincent Van Gogh was a Dutch post-Impressionist painter born in 1853 in Groot Zundert, Netherlands. He had a difficult life and struggled with mental illness. Some of his most famous paintings include The Starry Night, which depicts a village at night with a cypress tree and stars, and The Potato Eaters, which shows five people eating potatoes around a kitchen table. Van Gogh has a famous museum dedicated to his work in Amsterdam that receives over 1.4 million visitors annually and is one of the most visited art museums in the world.
