In his Discourse on Method, Rene Descartes asserts that all human beings are equal in
their ability to reason and that any differences in opinion are not a result of a
difference in ability to reason, but in the application of the reasoning. Descartes
begins his argument for this claim by stating that rational thought and reason is what
separates humans from animals, and that if all people have this ability to reason, then

First off, there were many strengths that I believed were demonstrated within my
Values Speech such as pacing and eye contact with my fellow classmates, but
despite the strengths that were seen, the weaknesses of stuttering and finishing
sentences abruptly created a weak feeling at the end of my presentation. As I
watched the recording of my presentation on repeat, I noticed that my pacing was
very well executed. I didn t speak too fast nor did I speak too slow, which is good
because my classmates were able to follow along with what I was saying. Not only
that, but I also provided eye contact to my classmates, showing that I was well
prepared and did not need to read my note cards as much. Of course, with strengths,
there were also weaknesses portrayed. I often stuttered at a couple of phrases
because of my anxiety and I would also finish some of my sentences abruptly,
leaving a poor execution. I realized that once I began saying a certain sentence and
mess up mid way through, I would end the sentence with words that wouldn t be as
clear. Now knowing my weaknesses and strengths, I will better prepare myself for
my next upcoming speech by practicing my speeches with more word choices when I
say it verbally, allowing myself to become more aware of the variety of

Jon Krakauer s group, on April 16th, began their 2nd acclimatization starting from
base camp and climbing up too camp one. Hall, the group leader decided that he
would like the climbers to stay at camp one for two nights, camp two for one night,
then after that, go back to the base camp. The next morning they left for camp two,
which is about four miles above where they were at camp one. On his way up,
Krakauer sees a dead body. The dead body stuns him for a little while but then he
continues on up the mountain towards camp two. The group makes it up to base
two. The altitude greatly affected Krakauer he mentioned how all that he could do
was rest in his tent with his head in his hands. The next day, after feeling a little nit

The movie 42 is a story about Jackie Robinson s life as a baseball player, and how
he broke the baseball color barrier by becoming the first African American player in
the league. The story begins with Wendell Smith giving the audience background
information about the United States and their segregation laws, and he brings it in
comparison with baseball. He discusses how baseball was made up of 16
professional teams of all white players, but then Robinson comes in the picture.
The movie then goes on to talk about Robinson s career on the Brooklyn Dodgers,
