- Historical Financial Statements Timely? Am I getting them before the 10th of each month? Accurate? Are they always correct or does my accounting staff frequently have to go back to fix them? Meaningful? Is the information presented in such a way to be helpful to me and my managers?
- Budgets / Forecasts / Projections Monthly budget with comparisons to actual performance Including analysis of What Went Right and What Went Wrong. “What if” income projections What will be the impact to margins / income if we land the ABC Job? What will happen to our profits if we lose the XYZ account? Should I invest in that truck / equipment / building expansion? (CapX Analysis) Where can we cut costs without negatively impacting our operations? Cash Flow Forecasts (Weekly /Monthly) How much can we afford to dividend / draw out of the Company? Are my customers paying me on time? What can I do to make sure they do? Are we taking full advantage of our suppliers credit terms?
