The Fire Chief is requesting to purchase three new EMS stretchers to replace units over 12 years old. New national safety standards are being adopted in November 2016. The new stretchers will keep patients securely in place even during a vehicle crash. The City Attorney confirmed the purchase over $50k is exempt from bidding requirements under local codes for public safety. Stryker Medical submitted the lowest quote of $79,135.25 for a three year lease/purchase. Funding is available from the EMS capital replacement budget.
