● City Council approved participation in the
Bexar County HALT (Highwater Alert Life-
saving Technology) Flood Warning System on
September 28, 2015
• Bexar County has prepared an Interlocal
Agreement for the high water detection project
which has been reviewed by the City Attorney

● The Interlocal Agreement is substantially the
same as presented to City Council with the
exception of the planned locations of the
warning beacon stations
• Two warning beacon stations previously
planned to be in Olmos Park have been moved
into San Antonio

● The City of Alamo Heights will be responsible
for the maintenance and upkeep of two
warning beacons stations and the master
control station after a one year warranty period
• High Sierra is the designated service
provider for the highwater warning system

• Annual maintenance of system - $1,000 – $1,400
• Hourly rate for service - $115 per/hr.
• Recommended - $5,000 contingency for repairs or
maintenance beyond the annual maintenance process
