Recent advances in information technology include rising broadband adoption rates, increasing mobile phone subscriptions, growth of social networks, online shopping, and shifts to cloud, mobile, and ubiquitous computing. New technologies may one day allow memories to be recorded, replayed, and edited through chips, cameras, and nanobots installed in the human body, fundamentally changing how individuals and organizations view memory.
