Big Data, CEP and IoT : Redefining Healthcare Information Systems and AnalyticsTauseef Naquishbandi
Big Data is a term encompassing the use of techniques to capture, process, analyze and visualize potentially large datasets in a reasonable time frame not accessible to standard technologies.
It refers to the ability to crunch vast collections of information, analyze it instantly, and draw from it sometimes profoundly surprising conclusions
Big data solutions can help stakeholders personalize care, engage patients, reduce variability and costs, and improve quality of health delivery.
Big data analytics can also contribute to providing a rich context to shape many areas of health care like analysis of effects, side-effects of drugs, genome analysis etc.
The document proposes using IoT and epistemology to provide strategic health care solutions for smart communities. It outlines two key problems: 1) quick diagnosis for patients and 2) creating health care strategies and reconfiguring hospital resources based on diagnoses. The proposed solution is to maintain a dataset of treated medical cases and their characteristics. Stakeholders would search for similar past cases to provide scored treatment solutions and optimize resource allocation. This would allow for faster diagnoses and more efficient health care strategies tailored to patients' needs.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower ordered that many photographs and films be made of the Holocaust as evidence after liberating the concentration camps. He explained that this was to collect proof because someday someone would say it never happened. Recently, the UK removed the Holocaust from school curriculums due to offending Muslim beliefs that it did not occur. It is now important to remind the world to never forget, as Iran and others now claim the Holocaust was a myth. This email aims to have 40 million people say they read it to help spread remembrance of the Holocaust around the world.

This document discusses the state of healthcare in India and a vision for improving access and reducing costs. Some key points:
- Most Indians pay out-of-pocket for healthcare and many take on debt to pay medical bills. Government spending on health is only 1.1% of GDP.
- A program called Yeshaswini provides micro health insurance to farmers for only 11 cents per month, covering over 1.7 million people. This shows how organizing communities can make healthcare affordable.
- The vision is for India to develop low-cost hospitals and technologies to make high-quality cardiac care accessible and affordable for all. Training ICU nurses will also be crucial using simulation machines as teaching hospitals cannot meet demand

State of the Internet: Mirai, IOT and History of BotnetsRahul Neel Mani
This document discusses the history and evolution of botnets, focusing on the Mirai botnet. It describes how Mirai was able to assemble a large botnet by exploiting vulnerabilities in internet of things devices with default passwords. Mirai launched large distributed denial of service attacks in late 2016 by harnessing the power of its botnet. The document advises steps companies can take to strengthen security and mitigate risks from botnet attacks.
The document emphasizes the importance of getting the basics right in cybersecurity. It provides three reasons why basics are important: 1) because basics never change, 2) because basics support more complex systems, and 3) because basics have stood the test of time. However, the document notes that in several data breach examples, the basics were missed. This led to personal information being exposed. The document stresses that strong cybersecurity requires keeping the basics, like access management and patching, as a strong foundation to build upon while also adapting to new priorities and complexities.
Upgrading Your Firewall? Its Time for an Inline Security FabricRahul Neel Mani
An inline security fabric can provide benefits over traditional firewall deployments by reducing network downtime, increasing security tool efficiency, and improving inspection and security monitoring. An inline security fabric uses high-availability network packet brokers and bypass switches to intelligently route traffic across security tools, load balance traffic to extend tool life, and ensure redundancy so there are no single points of failure. This eliminates disruptions from tool failures or upgrades while improving security resilience.
