In this time of epic social change our role as educators has extended beyond the classroom and into life. Whether we are working on the front lines advocating for funding on a global scale or working one on one with children in the classroom, being an educator in this day and age means so much more than pedagogy. In these 5 minutes I’ll be sharing my own journey helping improve the lives of children both as an activist marching on Washington and Trenton grant writing and integrating the maker mindset and interdisciplinary instruction into classrooms in one of the largest districts in New Jersey. Now, more than ever, is our moment as educators to share resources, advocate for opportunities for our children and “be the change we want to see in the world”.
