Blogging with students and how it aligns
with the ISTE standards.
By Andrew Enck and John Forrester
What better way to demonstrate creativity
and innovation than using a forum like a blog.
The students have power to create original
works for their expression. Each individuals
blog can be group with other to identify
trends and forecast possibilities as well.
A student who blogs, is a student who is
suing digital media and environments to be
involved in communicating and collaborating.
Blogs also provide a forum for multiple
audiences.

provide a forum for multiple audiences. By
managing a blog, you are processing data
(view/comments) and reporting results (new
posts).
A blog is a forum that can be used to identify
and define authentic problems. A blog is also
a good forum to plan and manage activities
related to completing a project as everyone
in a class can view one another’s blog and
see the ideas or progress being made.
A digital citizen must apply fluency to
several areas of navigating the
internet or other digital media.
Students who blog exhibit a positive
attitude towards technology that
supports collaboration. A blog is the
perfect forum for collaborating and if
implemented effectively a good forum
for learning and productivity.
Just by having a blog, a student understands
and uses technology. Once they manage a
blog, they are selecting and using
applications effectively and productively. The
piece that helps show master of the content
itself is in the transfer current knowledge to
learning of new technologies.
