5. Curiosity. Having curiosity can help you dig deeper into the issue. “All it takes is a conscious effort to ask open-ended questions about the things you see in your everyday life, and you can then invest the time to follow up on these questions” (Erstad. 2018. Para. 23).

It seems as though we are living in a time where it has become politically correct to throw low-blows and have unfair fights just to take the lead or stand out the most. In political races we see this all the time, politicians talk bad, make accusations on the other, and dig up any dirt they can find. Even if it is just the extended family members of the other. To me the more one political candidate throws dirt or low blows it makes them look bad. Not the face of America. Even professionals in the media have changed their ways of communication from professional to more laid back. I was once watching the news and one individual reported and said that the victim was "leaving his baby-momma house". So many viewers called into to the Viewers Voice and complained about how Shawn Rabb has reported the news unprofessionally, he is ghetto, and so much more. However the term "baby-momma" is more common than "mother of my children". Its the language of the culture that is changing. Working as a Juvenile Detention Officer I hear all types of synonyms. Some I used as a kid and others I need the meaning of and if they cant tell me what it means they can not use it.

Others disagree because judicial activism fails to obey higher court precedents due to personal preferences. Social policy is about the well-being of all us as a society. The course will analyze and discuss a number of moral problems which are quite controversial in contemporary American society, including environmental ethics and animal rights, sexual morality, pornography and censorship, hate speech, abortion, euthanasia, capital punishment, war and torture terrorism, global redistribution of wealth and welfare, racial and sexual equality and affirmative action,. The emphasis will be on weighing the arguments pro and con, and deciding which side has the best supporting grounds for its point of view. It is hoped that a more balanced and objective evaluation of the arguments on these moral issues will result from standing back and gaining some critical distance upon things upon which we might already have formed fixed positions and about which we might have strong feelings. The objective of the course will be to come to a deeper and broader understanding of these moral problems and to engage in critical reflection upon them through reading pertinent articles and through open discussion. In addition, the themes of diversity and inclusiveness will be critically and discussed with the aim of broadening the student’s horizon and encouraging respect for diverse points of view and backgrounds. The student will be expected to think for her/himself, developing her/his own position, and formulating arguments to support it on the basis of the ongoing debate. It seems as though we are living in a time where it has become politically correct to throw low-blows and have unfair fights just to take the lead or stand out the most. In political races we see this all the time, politicians talk bad, make accusations on the other, and dig up any dirt they can find. Even if it is just the extended family members of the other. To me the more one political candidate throws dirt or low blows it makes them look bad. Not the face of America. Even professionals in the media have changed their ways of communication from professional to more laid back. I was once watching the news and one individual reported and said that the victim was "leaving his baby-momma house". So many viewers called into to the Viewers Voice and complained about how Shawn Rabb has reported the news unprofessionally, he is ghetto, and so much more. However the term "baby-momma" is more common than "mother of my children". Its the language of the culture that is changing. Working as a Juvenile Detention Officer I hear all types of synonyms. Some I used as a kid and others I need the meaning of and if they cant tell me what it means they can not use it.

Develop a 4-5 page analysis of your experience with gender socialization. In doing so, analyze how gender is created by society, specifically looking at children's toys and/or clothing.
Culture is the glue that holds a society together—it is what encourages the members of that society to cooperate with each other as much as possible. We learn culture through socialization, the lifelong social experience. From birth we are taught how to be members of our society.
The most common agents of socialization are our family, peers, school, and media. The family, for example, influences a child's development by such things as the way the parents hold the baby, look at it, talk to it, and respond to its needs. We take on typical gender roles from the beginning as girls are given pink clothes while boys are given blue. Family socialization is reinforced or modified by experiences at school and with peers, by the mass media, and by interaction with others. Socialization, the lifelong social experience through which we learn culture, is vital to becoming members of a society.
In this assessment, we look at the sociological concepts of culture and socialization and how they impact our behavior and attitudes.
