The document provides instructions for students to complete an assignment on Islamic architecture in Al-Andalus. 1.- Architecture: general features.
 Copy red point 1 and introduce a picture of the following elements: wood, brick, tiles,
plaster. You must write the caption of the picture with the name of each element.
 Copy red point 2 and introduce a picture of the following elements: semicircular arch, stilted
semicircular arch, mixtilinear arch, polylobed arch, horseshoe arch, colums, piers, shaft of a
column, Islamic capitals of a column. You must write the caption of the picture with the
name of each element.
 Copy red point 3 and introduce a picture of gabled roofs, muqarna vault, caliphal ribbed
vault and segmented dome. You must write the caption of the picture with the name of each
element.
 Copy red point 4 and introduce a picture of calligraphic design, arabesque and interlacing.
 Copy the paragraph about the Islamic palaces and add pictures of the Palace of Comares
(public area) and the Palace of the Lions (private part) in La Alhambra of Granada.
 Copy the paragraph about the Mosques and introduce a picture of the mosque of the
Mecca Mosque.

 Copy the features of the Caliphal architecture and add a picture of the interior and exterior
of the Great Mosque at Córdoba, the palace-city of Medina Azahara outside Córdoba and
