By Dimitar Spasov
(1642 – 1727)
• Born on 1643, in Woolsthorpe, England, Isaac Newton is
a great physicist and mathematician, and is known as
one of the great minds of the 17th century Scientific
Revolution. With discoveries in optics, motion and
mathematics, Newton developed the principles of
modern physics.
• When Sir Isaac Newton was a
boy, he was more interested
in making mechanical devices
than in studying. He made a
windmill which could grind
wheat and corn, and he made
a water clock and a sundial.
His teachers thought of him as
a poor student. He wanted to
go to college, but he didn't
have the money to go.
• Isaac Newton built the first practical reflecting
telescope and developed a theory of colour
based on the observation that a prism
decomposes white light into the many colours
of the visible spectrum
The first telescope that Newton invented.
With it you can watch the planets.
