Penguins are flightless birds that live primarily in the Southern Hemisphere and Antarctica. They can swim but not fly and prey primarily on fish and squid, while also being preyed on by killer whales and leopard seals. Penguins vary in size from the smallest little blue penguin to the largest emperor penguin and have thick layers of feathers to keep them warm both in and out of the water.
