Xinjiang is an autonomous region in northwest China that covers a large area and has a population of 21 million. NFD LuCI
This document discusses adding a web-based user interface for NDN Forwarding Daemon (NFD) configuration and management on OpenWrt home routers. The authors ported NFD and other NDN programs to OpenWrt as packages. They developed NFD configuration and status pages for the OpenWrt LuCI web interface. Configuration is done through UCI and updates NFD via script. This allows easy NFD management via the router web interface without command line commands. Future work includes additional NDN applications and dynamic status updates.
Ride On Today

Making Inter-domain Routing Power-Aware?

Faster Content Distribution with Content Addressable NDN Repository
This document describes carepo, a content addressable repository for Named Data Networking (NDN) that improves content distribution. Carepo identifies identical content that appears under different names by computing hashes of content chunks. It maintains a hash index at repositories and publishes hash lists from producers. This allows consumers to find identical chunks cached on nearby nodes, reducing download times by up to 38% compared to NDN in tests with Linux ISO files. Carepo increases publishing time by around 4x to generate chunk hashes and indexes but this is a one-time cost outweighed by faster distribution to multiple consumers.
Network Redundancy Elimination
This document discusses network redundancy elimination, a technique proposed in 2000 to reduce redundant network traffic by identifying and replacing repeated content with tokens. It describes how web content and traffic are often redundant, but caching is ineffective because content is dynamic or personalized. The technique works by generating fingerprints of packet content, identifying and replacing matches with tokens, and keeping sender and receiver caches in sync to reconstruct the original packets. Evaluation of real web traffic traces found the technique could reduce redundancy by 10-50%, even with just 1MB of cache memory.
