In the linguistic field:

 a link between language and technology has
 been well recognized
                     but

    its common use seems to be doubtful
   investigates university curricula present at the linguistic
    faculties in V4;

   focuses on courses: language + technology;

   the analysis covers Bachelor’s and Master’s programs
    with following modules:
       foreign language teaching (English, German and French),
       linguistics and
       translation;


   a part of a more complex study (involved 27 countries).

   the Czech Republic:
           Charles University in Prague,
           Palacký University, Olomouc,
           University of Pardubice,
           University of West Bohemia,
           Masaryk University in Brno;



   Slovakia:
           Comenius University in Bratislava,
           Pavol Jozef Safarik University,
           University of Presov,
           University of Trnava,
           Constantine the Philosopher University Nitra;
   Hungary:
          Eötvös Loránd University,
          University of Szeged,
          University of Debrecen,
          University of Pécs,
          University of Miskolc;



   Poland:
          Adam Mickiewicz University,
          Jagiellonian University,
          University of Wroclaw,
          University of Warsaw,
          John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin.
   Foreign Language Teaching & Learning (FLT& FLL):
         ICT in FLT & FLL,
            e-learning (LMS e.g. Moodle),
            Web 2.0 tools,
            CALL (including authoring software),
           Language Learning Systems, Computer-Mediated
            Communication (CMC)

   Translation:
           CAT,
           MT,
           information tools supporting the translation act (Translation Memories),
           language corpora for translation purposes,
           methodology and technologies for information management in the translation
            environment

   Linguistics:
         programming for language technological applications,
           natural language processing,
           speech technology,
           computational syntax/semantics
            dialogue systems.
   Information Technology:
        university courses (regardless to their name) that comprise basic
         IT skills e.g. Word, Power Point applications, Internet based
         applications (e-mail, YouTube, Google) etc.,


   Research Units:
        affiliated to the university,
        at least nationally known and recognized,
        focused on ICT in FLT & FLL or Language Technology
        research units with financial resources other than public – not
         included.
