Irony An incongruity, best understood in three parts
Dramatic irony   When the audience knows something a character does not know Example : horror movies and  Borne Identity “ Look out behind you!”
Situational irony When something happens opposite of how one expects it to happen  Example : Spiderman doesn’t stop the thief “ If he’d only known!”
Verbal irony   When a person says one thing but means another Example : sarcasm
