This document presents a study comparing fly ash bricks to conventional clay bricks. Fly ash bricks were made with different percentages of cement (0%, 3%, 5%) and tested for compressive strength, water absorption, and efflorescence. Testing found fly ash bricks with 5% cement had 63% higher compressive strength and 48% lower water absorption than conventional bricks. Efflorescence was also lower in fly ash bricks. Using fly ash bricks in construction can reduce costs by 29-41% compared to conventional bricks due to lower material and cement usage. The study concludes fly ash bricks are stronger, more durable and eco-friendly than conventional bricks.
