Irakli Charkviani was a Georgian poet, writer, and musician known for his eccentric image and eclectic musical style that spanned genres like alternative rock, electronic music, and hip hop. He came from an elite family in Tbilisi, Georgia and had early success with bands like Arishi and Taxi in the 1970s-80s. In the 1990s, Charkviani emerged as a leading figure in Georgia's alternative and electronic music scenes. He released several solo albums and composed music for films. Charkviani was found dead at his apartment in 2006 of reported heart problems, leaving behind unpublished songs.
