It includes inroduction to VERTX, key advantages and concepts, internals and demos. It begins with an introduction to VERTX section which includes an introduction to VERTX and its features. It also includes reasons of using VertX. Following is a section on key advantages and concepts. It includes advantages of using VertX like nature, scalability etc. It also includes key concepts like verticle, event bus, event loop, worker thread, module and how VertX works on these concepts.
In addition to this, there is a section on internals and demos which includes open source projects, demo applications, architecture of these demo applications in form of producer, queue, consumers, workers, event bus. The last section of the tutorial covers up a summary section. It includes a brief summary of VertX and pointers to look something forward to like integration, language support, creation of modules etc.

Gamen is er voor iedereen en iedereen is gamer. Ook studenten gamen, maar dan wel voornamelijk in hun vrije tijd. Wat zijn die elementen in games die voor zo’n grote aantrekkingskracht zorgen? En kunnen we die elementen ook in het onderwijs toepassen?
Games worden nu al in het onderwijs gebruikt om beter aan te sluiten bij de studenten van nu. Maar met alleen het gebruiken van games in de klas zijn we er nog niet. Een nieuw medium in een oud systeem is niet de oplossing. Ook het systeem zelf moet aangepast worden. Docenten hebben hierin een cruciale rol.
In deze lezing behandel ik die elementen van games die zo motiverend zijn. Wat zijn die elementen en zijn die ook in het onderwijs van nu toepasbaar? Hoe kunnen we zorgen, door goed te kijken naar games, dat onderwijs diezelfde aantrekkingskracht krijgt.

Holland Health organiseert eens in de zoveel tijd bijeenkomsten rondom verschillende, innovatieve thema's. Deze Health Cafés zijn bedoeld om mensen, ideëen en meningen op het gebied van de gezondheidszorg in Noordwest Holland bij elkaar te brengen.
Het derde Holland Health Cafe werd gehouden bij Tromp Medical in Castricum en was georganiseerd rondom het thema eHealth. Tijdens de bijeenkomst heb ik een korte lezing gegeven over de mogelijkheden van serious gaming in de Nederlandse, maar ook internationale gezondheidszorg.
