26. Important Information About the Statistics Alpha (cash adjusted) is a risk-adjusted measure of excess returns generated by the portfolio versus a target benchmark. It subtracts the risk-free rate from the returns of both the manager and benchmark. A positive alpha means the portfolio has beaten expectations while a negative alpha means the manager failed to match performance with risk.
