Editor's Notes

  • #2 Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to todays webinar demonstration. My name is <*Name*> and I will be you presenter for todays webinar.   Before we begin I would like to address some general housekeeping. You have probably noticed that you have been put on mute; this has been done in the interest of keeping the line quality as good as possible, you will remain on mute for the duration of this webinar presentation.   If you have any questions during the webinar, please use your comment box to send me any questions you may have. I will attempt to answer your questions as they come in, but to keep this presentation running on schedule I will answer any questions that I didn’t get to via email after the webinar.   Just to make sure everything is working okay, and the screen has come up in front of you, can you please send me a quick message using your comment box to confirm you can hear me okay. Once I have received confirmation we can start the webinar …<*Pause*>…   Okay, let’s get started…
  • #3 Today we will go through a brief introduction into Cin7 and then move onto a live Demonstration that will highlight some of the key functionality that we offer.   This demonstration will specifically cover: The Cin7 CRM Product Management Raising a purchase order and receipting stock into the system Creating a sales order and order fulfillment Using smart buyer to process a backorder A brief reporting overview   As this will be a very broad overview and it may not cover specific requirements that many of you may have. If you do have questions about functionality at the end of this webinar please let me know so that I can either direct you to information that will answer your questions, or arrange a time for a Cin7 expert to go through your requirements with you.
  • #4 So who are we? Cin7’s parent company is Datum Connect. Datum Connect has been around for over 14 years. In that time our team has worked on more than 1000 web based projects and has a customer retention rate of over 90%. In 2011 the Datum Connect team decided to venture into a new space inspired by our clients feedback.   The evolution of Cin7 emerged as a result of trending product requests arising from Datum Connects clients who were seeking more from the backend of their web based e-commerce platforms.   This feedback led to the development of features like online quote management, integration into accounting packages, 3rd party logistics integration as well as features like product options matrix and multiple units of measurement.   Cin7 now has customers in 8 countries and offices in New Zealand, Australia and the Untied States of America.
  • #5 Cin7’s system gives a business owner or manager the ability to know, at any time, exactly where every product is and its status, whether it’s in a store, warehouse or still at the factory.   This enables a company to analyze, predict and make decisions so as to maximize return. The accuracy of the information provided by Cin7 enables business managers to be better inventory managers, leading to better profit margins.   The Cin7 solution set offers inventory, point of sale (POS), warehouse management, and light manufacturing. The level of functionality within the system is aimed at growing businesses in the upper end of the small business market and the mid-tier market.   Cin7 is a browser based cloud software application, which means you can access the software from any web capable device with a web browser. As a result you never have to download software, patches or upgrades. Cin7 is always up to date and ready to be used whenever and wherever you are.
  • #6 Cin7 is used by retail, wholesale and e-commerce businesses - and often within business models that span across 2 or all of these segments.   Cin7’s large set of system capabilities means that it can service a wide range of business models within each industry. Currently Cin7 is used by businesses from production, to the supply chain, to the sale - and often in businesses that control all three aspects.
  • #8 Cin7 is not an entry-level system. It has been designed for growing mid-tier businesses that have increasing complexities and have out grown spreadsheets or entry-level systems therefore requiring a more robust system to support ongoing growth.   There are numerous companies offering inventory management systems but none of them have the combined advantages of Cin7 including; being highly configurable, integrated into multiple sales channels, cloud based, fully mobile and, at a price that isn’t going to break the bank.
  • #9 While Cin7 services a number of companies across a wide range of industries, some industries naturally gravitate towards Cin7 because of the unique features they require to operate at an optimum.   The industries Cin7 commonly deals with are; Fashion and Apparel, Particularly those who need to; Manage products with multiple variations and options like Color and Size within a single product style. Have a complex supply chain to keep track of, on a tight margin. Seamlessly integrate their Bricks and Mortar stores with our Point of Sale software and their online e-commerce channels. Food and Beverage, More often than not, Cin7 is used within the Food and Beverage industry for either import and distribution or light manufacturing. Both business models require accurate traceability and batch tracking to comply with health and safety laws. Cin7 is however not equipped to handle hospitality business models like bars and restaurants. Furniture and Homeware, Particularly those who often make made-to-order sales and need a system that can take a new unique order and process the supply chain requirements and the orders its fulfillment. Consumer Electronics, Especially those that operate in a highly competitive, high transaction, low margin industry. And need to keep track of a large inventory list of components and products that are serialized and have warranties. Flooring, Carpet and Tile. Especially those buy and sell products in different units of measurement. Often run a warehouse and showroom that requires their staff to be mobile using Cin7’s warehouse management and point of sale web applications designed for tablet devices.
  • #10 Within each industry, business models vary. For example, some businesses are retail only, some are wholesale only, some only sell online and most operate more than one business model in multiple sales channels.   Cin7 has the capability to operate seamlessly across different levels or business operations and industries.
  • #11 To meet these situations we have developed 6 core modules that work in harmony with our integrated system and your integrated sales channels. These modules can be used in combination or by themselves; the only module that is universal to every Cin7 system is the Inventory module.   The Retail Point of Sale module and the Warehouse Management module both run on a separate platform to the other core modules. This is because these modules have been designed to be used on tablet devices in environments that may not have reliable internet connection. This means that you will still be able to make sales even if the internet in your business district goes down and you will still be able to pick and pack your warehouse orders even if you wander down to the far end of the warehouse.   Within Cin7 you can control stock, load and save product information, manage your complex pricing and quoting formulas with everything done in real time in the cloud. This enables you to access real time stock takes and real time reporting information.   Cin7 handles order fulfillment – whether you are in a warehouse situation – pick, pack dispatch, or integrating into a 3rd party logistics company. Cin7 has a solution that can fit most fulfillment models.
  • #12 Our customers are mostly mid-tier companies, or those in the upper end of the small business market with ten or more employees. These companies are managing multiple products and complex pathways from production to sales. They all require a flexible system, that’s easy to use, is well supported, solves specific needs and is cost-effective. They also understand that good inventory management leads to better profit margins.   Cin7 manages your business from concrete to carpet… <Pause and change slide>
  • #13 From the front-end sales and administration. On a shop floor and online … <Pause>…
  • #14 To the back-end warehousing, order fulfillment and manufacturing of your products. Cin7 manages multiple channels within one seamless system.
  • #15 Cin7 is used by retail, wholesale and e-commerce businesses - and often within business models that span across 2 or all of these segments.   Cin7’s large set of system capabilities means that it can service a wide range of business models within each industry. Currently Cin7 is used by businesses from production, to the supply chain, to the sale - and often in businesses that control all three aspects.

  • #20 Now we will move on to part two of this webinar where I will take you through a live demo of the Cin7 system. As I mentioned earlier, this is a very broad overview of the Cin7 system and many of you will have specific requirements that this webinar will not cover. If you do have questions about functionality at the end of this webinar please let me know so that I can either direct you to information that will answer your questions or arrange a time for a Cin7 expert to go through your requirements with you.   At the end of this webinar you will also be emailed your own log in details for this exact demonstration account so you will be able to go back in your own time and play around with the Cin7 system using the existing data in the account. You can also add your own data into this account; just remember that this is a community demonstration account so you shouldn’t upload data that may be commercially sensitive to your company.   <time check: 20 – 30 minutes>
