• Sport tourism resides at the intersection of sport
and tourism industries and is dynamic and filled
with intrigue, challenges, and opportunities for
research and business practice.
• Sport tourism defined is as leisure-based tourism
that takes people temporarily outside their home
environment to participate or watch physical
activities, or enjoy attractions associated with
physical activity.
• Or simply, “travel to a destination to experience
sport.”
