To begin with, as a part of the curriculum a summer internship programme was to be conducted for a period of two months. Given a choice one was allowed to choose the field in which he/she was interested. As my interest and curiosity was in online or digital marketing I choose to work with a startup company named Return on web. Because it is booming industry, the growth of digital marketing is tremendous and expected to grow more.
Due to this summer internship, I learnt every aspect of digital marketing include (business development process, content writing, social media). The company asks me to do their competitive research and told to found return on web USP. And research of our target segments digital habits. With the help of the research we got a flow of what are the major criteria’s we need to have. One had to identify various sectors in the market that actually have a need of digital marketing services. And then your task is to approach them before your competitors.
Digital marketing startup companies follow a standard process of approaching clients. There are certain steps which cannot be altered or skipped. These are followed in sequences and executed after evaluating the process again and again. In digital marketing your team should be strong enough to deliver what your client expecting, as under digital marketing everyone work is interconnected and with a team only one campaign can get ready.

“There is nothing training cannot do. Nothing is above its reach. It can turn
bad morals to good; it can destroy bad principles and recreate good ones; it
can lift men to angel-ship.” -Mark Twain Training is the most important
activity, which plays an important role in the development of human
resources. To put the right man at the right place with the trained personnel
has become essential in today’s globalized market. No organisation has a
choice on whether or not to develop employees. Nowadays training has
become an important function of Human Resource Management. Human
Resources are the lifeblood of any organization. Only through well-trained
personnel, can an organization achieve its goals. Human Resource
Management refers to the policies, practices and systems that influence
employees’ behaviour, attitudes, and performance. Human resource practices
play a key role in attracting, motivating, rewarding and retaining employees.
Other human resource management practices include recruiting employees,
selecting employees, designing work, compensating employees and
developing good employer-employee relations. The importance placed on
‘Training’ is great on comparison to other human resource management
practices.
This report is prepared on the basis of my three months’ practical experience at NCC Bank Limited. The Internship Program helped me a lot to learn about the realistic situation of a financial institution.

Understanding User Needs and Satisfying ThemAggregage
https://www.productmanagementtoday.com/frs/26903918/understanding-user-needs-and-satisfying-them
We know we want to create products which our customers find to be valuable. Whether we label it as customer-centric or product-led depends on how long we've been doing product management. There are three challenges we face when doing this. The obvious challenge is figuring out what our users need; the non-obvious challenges are in creating a shared understanding of those needs and in sensing if what we're doing is meeting those needs.
In this webinar, we won't focus on the research methods for discovering user-needs. We will focus on synthesis of the needs we discover, communication and alignment tools, and how we operationalize addressing those needs.
Industry expert Scott Sehlhorst will:
• Introduce a taxonomy for user goals with real world examples
• Present the Onion Diagram, a tool for contextualizing task-level goals
• Illustrate how customer journey maps capture activity-level and task-level goals
• Demonstrate the best approach to selection and prioritization of user-goals to address
• Highlight the crucial benchmarks, observable changes, in ensuring fulfillment of customer needs

The study of the intern at Business Development Department (BD) during the period
of internship is not free from limitation. Due to the lack of resource and time the intern

was not allowed to involve in those activities where secrecy and confidentiality were
highly required regardless of how much importance those activities carried for
understanding in-depth knowledge about the BD activities for the intern.
The limitations of the project are as follows:
The duration of internship program is for eight weeks which is completely not
enough to learn each and every activity of the BDD
The intern was placed for whole 8 weeks in the BDD, even in that intern were given
more emphasis on the BOKsmart part rather than other so the study gives more
focus on BOKsmart rather than other activities.
The interpretation and conclusion were drawn within the limitations of individual’s
knowledge and judgment abilities and on the basis of data provided and other
published and unpublished sources. So it may lack the professional and expert
touch.
The policy of f1soft on keeping some matters confidential prevented from analyzing
different activities.
The study may not be applicable to other organization of similar nature, as f1soft is
IT Company it has its own policies and principles.

CHAPTER II
INTRODUCTION OFINFORMATION TECHNOLOGY INDUSTRY
2.1 Meaning of IT Industry
It stands for "Information Technology," and is pronounced "I.T." It refers to anything
related to computing technology, such as networking, hardware, software, the
Internet, or the people that work with these technologies. Many companies now have
IT departments for managing the computers, networks, and other technical areas of
their businesses. IT jobs include computer programming, network administration,
computer engineering, Web development, technical support, and many other related
occupations. Since we live in the "information age," information technology has
become a part of our everyday lives. That means the term "IT," already highly
overused, is here to stay. (Christensson, 2006)
2.2 History IT in Nepal
The IT sector is an emerging area in Nepal. The Government of Nepal has identified
IT and business process outsourcing (BPO) as one of the 5 priority potential export
service sectors in the Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS) 2010. IT has the
potential to generate high growth, investment, and significant profits in the coming
years and is expected to be one of the most significant growth contributors to the
Nepali economy.
Business process outsourcing is a major emerging area in IT in Nepal. These IT
entities are often referred to as ITES-BPO (informational technology enable services-
business process outsourcing). The existing players in ITES-BPO in the market serve
both the domestic and international market. Three types of companies are involved in
the ITES-BPO sector: local solution providers focusing on the local market, export-
oriented providers (e.g., offshore center), and hybrid providers (both local and export
oriented).
An IT Park is being established in Banepa in Kavre District. The total investment in

2.3 Current scenario of IT in Nepal
The IT sector is an emerging area in Nepal .There is an Information and Technology
ministry itself in the government level and a National Informatics Center (NIC) under
the ministry, instead of NCC, to advise and formulate National level IT policies and
plans. Inspired by the success of NCC's activities and to fulfill the people's quest for
new knowledge and skills, now a day there are more than 300 private Computer training
institutes. These institutes, both big and small have played a significant role in
promoting IT awareness in the country. Besides conducting training programs, many
of these private companies offer Consultancy services, Software Packages and
Hardware maintenance as well as computer assembly. IT solution provider companies
are also slowly coming up in the capital Kathmandu. In the education sector also IT
subject have been introduced from the primary level to higher secondary level. These
days, there are many colleges running graduate level academic IT courses. Personal
Computer is fast becoming an essential household item in the affluent families of the
country.
Internet technology has also been introduced to the country. Modern
Telecommunication Services, which are the backbone of IT, are recently developed. In
Nepal first Telephone Exchange was established in 1960. Telephone Services are
provided only by Nepal Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), a government
undertaking. There is more than 7 private Internet Service Provider (ISP) in the
Kathmandu valley, besides NTC. Government has also issued license for Cellular &
WLL networks to Private parties. NTC has at present 630,000 telephone lines &
100,000 GSM cellular Mobile phone lines. It has VSAT network with 1,000 terminals
in the mountain regions to serve the rural areas and 5,000- lines WLL network in
Western Development Region. Besides NTC, there are some private service providers
in Radio Paging, Video conferencing, Fax mail services, VSAT network etc.
These days many teenagers are hooked to Internet Chat and mail services. Internet
cafes have sprouted like mushrooms in the country. Tourists visiting the country are
also finding it very handy and useful. Web designing courses are in very much demand.
Internet is fast becoming a household necessity. Internet users are estimated to be
around 200,000 currently and it is fast increasing. Some overseas jobs are also been
carried out in the country. There are some institutions, doing GIS related work for
17. 8
Japanese client. Some are doing medical transcription job for US client. Some are doing
software development jobs for overseas client. Some are independently working as call
centers for overseas clients. The government has also brought forward IT policy to
encourage IT related activities. The government is building an IT park at Dhulikhel, a
mountain resort of east of Kathmandu. Many overseas companies have also opened
their franchise at Kathmandu. Many are conducting internationally recognized certified
IT courses. With all these activities, and infrastructure development, the information
technology situation in Nepal is heading towards rapid development. Qualified HR well
versed in IT is rapidly growing in the country. The IT related works done in the overseas
country can be done here at the one fourth of that cost, since HR costs as well as
infrastructure costs here are very low. In fact, many qualified IT personnel have
immigrated to overseas for greener pastures. Nepali IT companies are trying to get a
breakthrough in the global market, which they are finding it extremely difficult to get
access and directly penetrate. IT is the main hope for a landlocked mountainous country
like Nepal. The day, Nepal will show its presence in the IT map of the globe, will be
the brightest day in the history of the country. (Suwal, 2018)

2.4 Introduction to Mobile Banking
Mobile banking is a service provided by a bank or other financial institution that
allows its customers to conduct financial transactions remotely using a mobile
device such as a smartphone or tablet. Unlike the related internet banking it uses
software, usually called an app, provided by the financial institution for the purpose.
Mobile banking is usually available on a 24-hour basis. Some financial institutions
have restrictions on which accounts may be accessed through mobile banking, as well
as a limit on the amount that can be transacted.
Transactions through mobile banking may include obtaining account balances and
lists of latest transactions, electronic bill payments, and funds transfers between a
customer's or another's accounts. Some apps also enable copies of statements to be
downloaded and sometimes printed at the customer's premises; and some banks
charge a fee for mailing hardcopies of bank statements.
From the bank's point of view, mobile banking reduces the cost of handling
transactions by reducing the need for customers to visit a bank branch for non-cash
withdrawal and deposit transactions. Mobile banking does not handle transactions
involving cash, and a customer needs to visit an ATM or bank branch for cash
withdrawals or deposits. Many apps now have a remote deposit option; using the
device's camera to digitally transmit cheques to their financial institution.
Mobile banking differs from mobile payments, which involves the use of a mobile
device to pay for goods or services either at the point of sale or
remotely,[1]analogously to the use of a debit or credit card to effect
an EFTPOS payment. (wikipedia, 2018)
2.5 Mobile Banking in Nepal

financial institution to conduct a number of financial transactions like bill payment,
money transfer, account enquiry etc. M-banking is the new term for Nepali market

CHAPTER IV
ANALYSIS OFACTIVITIES DONE/PROBLEM SOLVED
This chapter mainly focuses on the activities performed by Intern during the internship
period. For the whole internship period Intern was placed in marketing department in
BOK. However the opportunity to work in marketing Department was very helpful for
the Intern as the Intern got overview of the entire BDD along with BOKsmart in small
period of time.
During the eight weeks period, due to some constraints, the business
promotion/marketing department was focused and all the activities that take place in
this department was observed, noted, and performed practically in the field. Below are
the activities performed in the business promotion/marketing department in F1Soft
International Pvt. Ltd:-
4.1. Activities Performed
For any organization, customers are the center of the business as they are the one who
uses the product/service of the organization. Thus, using an excellent marketing
strategy can help improve the organization to increase sales, elevate the profitability,
lower operation cost and create greater customer loyalty. Hence, the marketing
department or the business promotion department plays a vital role in promoting the
business and mission of organization. It serves as the face of your company,
coordinating and producing all materials representing the business.
As an intern of F1Soft International, I was deployed in the Naxal branch of Bank of
Kathmandu to promote F1Soft’s mobile banking app for the bank, BOK Smart. I was
provided with a stall of my own from where I was to perform the assigned tasks. I took
the help of the Customer Service Department of the bank for understanding the
functioning of the bank and their customers.
30. 21
The highlights of the job performed during the internship are:
Approaching customers in the banking hall and trying to convince them to use
the BOK smart app.
Attending to queries of customers about BOK smart app.
Receiving grievances of costumers regarding the app.
Showing demo to the new users or customers on how to use the BOK smart app.
For new customers created, filling up their forms and submitting it to the
concerned CSD staff of the bank.
Keeping record of customers dealt.
Try to meet the daily targets.
Converting customers of the bank to the users of app to increase the use of
mobile banking system.
Referring to CSD staff for any queries.
Submitting reports at the end of every working days.
Even though F1Soft International was the employer, I was deployed in Bank of
Kathmandu for the promotional campaign of their bank smart app. Thus, Bank of
Kathmandu can be taken as the workplace. Along with the tasks assigned by F1Soft,
additional activities were carried out which were fruitful for the bank. Some of the
additional tasks are as follows:-
Understanding the need of customers and determining the purpose of the visit.
Forwarding the customer to the concerned department as per their need.
Making the customer aware of the benefits and services available.
Informing the customers about the minimum balance required and service
charges.
Provide information to general customers about the basic proceedings of the
bank.
Helping customers on filling up the account opening forms and KYC forms.
Maintain friendly work relationship with the staff of the bank.
31. 22
4.2. Problems Solved
Problems and organization are non-detachable terms. In performing day to day
activities of the organization, one needs to tackle with various problems and challenges.
While dealing with such problems, appropriate managerial skills need to be used to
solve the problem in the effective and efficient way. During the internship period, the
following problems were solved.
a) Problems related to the wrong information and incomplete information:
Most of the customers had to face the problems due to the wrong information provided
by other customers or due to the incomplete information. So, the major responsibility
of the employee is to handle those customers and solve their problem by either
providing the factual information or by providing complete information as per the
peculiarity of the case.
b) Problems regarding availability of the mobile app:
During the internship period, it was found out the majority of the customers were
unaware about the existence of mobile banking app which was developed for their own
benefit. Therefore, customers were made aware about the benefits of the app in the day-
to-day life and financial transactions related to the bank.
c) Problems related to the lack of knowledge on how to use the app:
Even when there were customers who had BOK smart app in their cellphones, they
were far from using the app to its full potential. They seldom opened the app. Moreover,
they still visited the bank for inquires and transactions that could be easily done with
the app and could save them much time and effort. Thus, after realizing the problem,
the customers were taught through demonstrations on how to use the app properly.
d) Problems relating to ineffective grievance handling:
Grievance handling is an important managerial activity done to make sure the
customers remain happy with the service. During the internship tenure, many
customers were unable to submit their complaints in adequate manner to the
customer service department of the bank regarding the mobile banking system and
the app in general. Thus, the tasks performed in the workplace solved the particular
problem of grievance handling of the customers.
32. 23
Therefore, the problems that arose in the working place was tackled and solved in a
calm and positive manner. The problems posed a threat to the working environment but
dealing with caution, tactics and patience helped solve all those problems that arose in
the workplace.
4.3. SWOT Analysis

33. 24
No any direct communication with the user of their mobile banking apps leads
to poor feedback process.
Employee turnover rate is high which leads the organization to expenses on
training and recruitment process of workforce.
Real time nature requires constant attention of the organization and its related
employees.
Doing it poorly can be worse than not doing it at all, as e-commerce is very
delicate and influencing sector.
3. Opportunities
Opportunities are the favorable external factors that an organization can use to gain the
advantages over the rivals in the similar industry or the same sector of business or the

foreigners.
34. 25

banking which might cause decline in interest among customers to use the bank
smart app of F1Soft.
Learning web technologies and how to leverage them can be daunting, similarly
not knowing them can be disastrous.

CHAPTER V
CONCLUSION AND LESSON LEARNT
5.1 Conclusion
In the conceptuality, learning theoretically through the books and experiencing those
learned materials in the real world has vast differences or the gap. The theoretical
concept may boost up speed for learning in practical environment because of the
familiarity of the terms, concept but can’t create lively environment. The real life
experiences that we deal while working in the practical areas prepares us well for
working in that environment, quite easily. The interpersonal relationship seems to be
simple in theory but in the practice maintaining the interpersonal relationship and
mixing with society is a crucial task.
Whenever we learn something through the help of books, we get a mental picture as to
what should be, but after the completion of the internship the intern found out that the
textbooks and the real world situation are two completely different matters because
what was learnt in the textbooks are not updated from time to time whereas in the real
world one has to be updated in order to compete and get success.
In different courses, intern had only acquired theoretical knowledge but during two
months internship program, the intern got a chance to gain practical knowledge and
cope with the working environment. Intern learnt about the mobile banking and other
activities conducted in marketing department and CSD as well. The theoretical
knowledge that the intern had acquired proved to be very useful in understanding the
practical situation and in reducing the difficulties which many student face during the
internship program. The report had made to know about the activities carried out in
marketing department of f1soft International Pvt ltd. The internship period helped
intern to know how an organization maintains its relations with its clients and the way
of handling grievances. This report is based on the internship done in BOK Naxal, as a
representative of f1soft International for the period of 8 weeks. During the whole
internship, the intern was placed on marketing department. It was the great opportunity
for the intern to have a practical knowledge of marketing department and its working
environment.
At the work environment, intern got the chance to get familiar and socialize with the
people and found that employee of f1soft International and BOK are highly committed
to their work and to the organization. At the work environment the intern got an
36. 27
opportunity to observe, how people work in team, how they put their synergized effort
for their better outcome and achieve the organizational goal.
At last the intern would like to thanks F1soft International, the team of F1soft for their
support, suggestions and cooperation’s. As a whole, the internship was fruitful,
memorable and knowledgeable. The purpose of the study also is to do practical work,
in the field and apply the knowledge of classroom lectures to the real life situations. At
the work environment the intern got an opportunity to observe, how people work in
team, how they put their synergized effort for their better outcome and achieve the
organizational goal.
F1Soft International begins the history of formal IT and software development industry
in the country and has been contributing its bit for the national development. During
the 14 years of functioning F1Soft has gone through various ups and downs, however,
it has always contributed in the national growth with its activities. F1Soft reached the
extreme of the county to facilitate its customer and build the trust of individual and
financial institutions. F1Soft International’s facilities and product prove themselves to
be commendable from the above analysis.
Internship at F1Soft proved to be a great deal of experience of corporate cultures in a
friendly environment. This internship favored to get the practical acquaintance of a
bank and its mobile banking system. Learning under those experienced heads made the
work easy and I was able to develop and represent as a member of the organization
rather than just an intern.
Various activities done at the business promotion department were observed that aid in
the development of internee’s interpersonal and communication skills. Placement at the
marketing department made to be familiarized with overall activities; risk associated
with the activities and the matter that needed a close monitoring in the particular
department.
5.2. Lessons Learnt
The duration of internship lasted for two months and during the period of time, the
intern got the opportunity to directly work with the professionals and in a practical
environment that proved to be quite fruitful to understand the real scenario as well as
to use the theoretical knowledge in real life situation. From the very beginning, the
intern had keen interest to take the intern as a good opportunity to enhance the skills
37. 28
acquired. And intern knew that it is a chance to bring the theoretical knowledge into
practice. It is a platform to foster the career and through this intern will be able to face
the real scenario and get the opportunity to know the working culture of the
organization.

5.3 Recommendations
During my internship period in this organization I experienced various positive as well
as negative experiences. It helped me as I could better understand the practical
knowledge over my theoretical knowledge that I gained in Nepal Commerce Campus
38. 29
during my BBA program. Some of the feedback that I would like to give to the
organization and the service sectors are as follows:
Employee motivational programs should be implemented to motivate them by
providing financial and non-financial reward.
It is desirable to lunch an advertising camping to attract more customers.
Proper utilization and proper management of the fixed assets in the
organization.
Top level management need to involve and participate lower level employee in
the decision making. So, it reduces the dissatisfaction of employee.
