To invigorate the state of equillibrium in terms of assimilations between people to building, vice versa, within
Kuala Sepetang.

i. Exhausted of absorbing the architecture, patchwork, what is beauty?
ii. Have adopted to the grit of the town, the dirt, the mess, the organisation

i. Is going through changes that are drastic, calling out for help, is that the
direction the town’s people want them to take?
ii. Has also absorbed the grit og the town, the older structures are a reflection
of the people.

style of venacular architecture
helps natural architecture and
double pitched. Mostly seen in 2
to 3 storey houses.
Timber panelling symbolic
for venacular architecture.
Abundant in area, low cost.
Has a warmest in the area
and is sustainable.
Glass windows located on
front and back of building
Flat roofing, plastered brick wall
all act as load bearing walls for
3 storey and higher structures,
suitable for buildings in tropical
weather. NOT so sustainable.

to counter flooding
ii. Courtyard intergration system.

To optimize potential views from
South West.
v. Slanted entrance on the North
West side to emphasize the
most open space. Automatically
attracts people and evokes
sense of freedom,
Noticable orientation grid lines that create a focal
point at the micro site. Creating an ‘island effect’,
meaning micro site is a focal point in the eco
system in the whole Kuala Sepetang. As it is the
only portion that consists of:
i. Residential
ii. Industrial
iii. Commercial
Making it the most assimilated site.Using orientation grid lines of
Kuala Sepetang on the micro
site to create form. This respects
the orientation of the town and
creates a sense of equilibrium
and equipoise, even though
there is juxtaposition in the
