Audience Analysis
The instructor is critical in understanding that I conduct extensive research on the topic. Therefore, essential items should not be missed in the presentation as proof of extensive research. The details about the point son the safety of the patients while in the hands of the nurses should be conspicuous. This includes supporting the points with peer research articles. The use of graphics and data on the topic of discussion is a crucial enhancer to cementing the presentation. The presentation should also have points touching on three key aspects, pathos, ethos, and logos. This is because eliciting emotions in the audience brings relevance to the issue. This means the presentation must not lack the arguments for, arguments against, and the position statement. By bringing out these aspects, the instructor will be impressed that the desired amount of research was dedicated to the discussion topic.
One of the critical ingredients to impressing my peers is recognizing them and their contributions and arguments on the topic. I believe that my contributions to the case resemble their contributions. Thus, I will explain how my presentation improves or adds more value to what a few have mentioned by specifying the individuals with their names. The use of statistics and research findings from published articles with relevant graphics makes them believe. Touching on their emotions is also vital. I will use ethos; here, I will include a recent development in patient care and safety that is beneficial to them as individuals. I will get relevant statistics and graphical presentations for logos to bring the imagery to their minds. For pathos, I will cite information pertinent to the topic from reputable scholars that prove my points are from peer-reviewed sources.

As a graduate student, one of the fundamental techniques to gather research for a paper is the use of an Annotated Bibliography. Furthermore, as a human-computer interaction researcher, finding relevant literature to support a study is also part of preparing an analytical research paper. For this assignment, you’ve been assigned a topic (see below). You’ve also been assigned to a specific group (see Groups in Blackboard). Each member of the group is to find five UNIQUE references. These references are to be scholarly papers, not wiki, blog, or Website entries. Do not include textbooks or trade publications either. The use of Google Scholar is STRONGLY recommended.
IMPORTANT: To support your research journey, read the
Levy & Ellis (2006) article on how to maximize your research opportunities in Information Systems Research.
For the annotated bibliography, if your team has three (3) members, I expect to see UNIQUE entries. For four (4) members, your team should submit a deliverable with twenty (20) entries.
Your assigned topic is as follows:
Mobile HCI
To receive full credit, your entry must have a PROPERLY cited APA citation and a description of the article that is 100-125 words. Entries must be free of grammatical and spelling errors to receive full credit.
An example entry that would yield a full score is:
Hyman, J. A. (2015). Developing Instructional Materials and Assessments for Mobile Learning.
In International Handbook of E-Learning Volume 1 (pp. 347-358). Routledge
In Hyman (2015), a review of the required elements needed to create instructional materials for an e-learning and m-learning setting is identified. Hyman then proposes a mobile learning framework that focuses on design, environment, activity, and technology to guide the courseware developer in creating user-friendly yet meaningful instruction that is targeted for delivery in the mobile context.

Dissertation of Service Quality Improvement
A research proposal for a possible dissertation entails keen consideration of peer-reviewed articles to establish the possibilities given regarding the topic. Problems, purpose and, hypothesis of the research are to be established to guide during the research. Planning dissertation research for a business follows a format that gives prospectus clients or supporters a vivid view of the reasons and importance of the research.
Service quality improvement has been a critical issue to most business setting, rendering them to provide poor services. They focus on spending a lot of money on ill- conceived services in addition, undermining the best methods to offer their customers with quality services. In such cases, customers feel unsatisfied and not treated in a manner they would like to be handled. Excellent service is an important approach because customer’s loyalty and satisfaction is improved. Every business should focus on how to improve their services in order to retain their customers and gain more customers.
Customers view value as the profit acquired from the trouble encountered such as unfriendly employees, high prices, services that are not attractive and locations that are not convenient to them. With excellent services, profit maximization of the company is improved and customer’s burdens on non-price issues are minimized. Most business organizations suffer low profit because their services do not meet customers’ expectations. Prior researches have concentrated on how services can be measured and nature of customer’s expectations without considering the service quality improvement factor, in order to improve their profits (Loshin, 2011).
This research will help to identify means of improving service in business organizations. Quality need to be described by the customer, whereby it should conform to his or her specification. Most company’s view quality as conformance to organization specifications and this research will help to solve this problem by identifying the best methods of delivering quality service. This research will help to address the questions on how to respond to customers and taking care of them (Hernon, 2011).
Ethics has become a keystone for carrying out successful and significant research. Due to this, the ethical conduct of individual researchers is under unprecedented analysis (Best & Kahn, 2006; Field & Behrman, 2004; Trimble& Fisher, 2006). Some of the ethical concerns likely to be experienced when conducting research are ex.

This learner had the pleasure of reading multiple posts from Capella students from the IGuide group. The posts were on the best practices in making recommendations for collaborations in regards to the multidisciplinary approach. This learner gained insightful information from her fellow Capella peers regarding the collaboration process, recommendations, and the action plan to help clients with their complex problems in a multidisciplinary approach. This post provides a detailed synopsis of information this learner learned from her Capella peers from the IGuide group. Also, provides additional research-based information of best practices for developing courses of action.
A Synopsis of the Best Practices in Making Recommendations and Developing Course of Action
The Client
According to Rudy and Levinson (2008), the best practice approach is identifying and evaluating the effectiveness of meeting the client’s needs. A good attribute in the course of action process is to consider the client as a whole person and create a plan of action that recognizes that one problem can affect, influence or bring more troubles.
Woodside and McClam (2015), suggest some professionals do not understand their client expectations. Having knowledge the client expectations is a good method of establishing and growing the client-professional helping relationship (Woodside & McClam, 2015). One best practice approach is to have a clear understanding of the client needs, client expectations, and a clear plan of how to meet the client’s needs and expectations. It’s easy for professionals to take over the multidisciplinary process without including the client. Therefore, client participates in the multidisciplinary 4-step process is a vital best practice. The client should never feel abandoned during any part of the multidisciplinary process, and the collaborative team should make modifications to the recommendation and action plan if obstacles arise.
The Professional
Meek & Newell (2005), suggest working together as a team can bring different perspectives to building each step of the framework, as the collaborative team works on shaping the best course of action and suitable recommendations. A collaborative teamwork helps professionals impart their knowledge and maximize their creativity, which helps each professional to focus on own professional disciplines.
Bronstein (2003), suggest recommending a model for interdisciplinary collaboration between human services professionals, which includes five key components
:
Interdependence
- which emphasizes teamwork,
Newly created professional activities
- which refer to the creation of new processes,
Flexibility
- which empowers team spirit and efficiency,
Collective ownership of goals
,

360 Degree Appraisal and Employee Commitmentijtsrd
The paper examined the relationship between 360 degree appraisal and employee commitment. Employee commitment is simply a relationship between employees and organization. The 360 degree performance appraisal as evident from existing literature is one of the appraisal system that has in the recent years gained significant popularity. The paper concludes that paper concludes that employees become committed to an organisation when leaders tend to exhibit behaviours that are geared towards developing them other than largely focusing on pay and promotion. Findings studies suggests that this traditional appraisal system tends to overlook a number of employee traits due to its standardised nature. The paper recommends that performance appraisal systems should be designed in such a way that they create perceptions of fair treatment relative to other employees as well as the employee”˜s own expectations. Using references, identity the research result that you could use in your practice setting.
This research I refer to identify key points in my project, my research question is about increasing communication to decrease readmission rates align well with the result of the following article. Ya-huei and Hung-Chang (2019), provide the readers with the type of tool they used to compute the result of their study with an outcome that was closed enough to the right answer. The use of the Kaiser-Meyer Olkin test has shown that these researchers have used the right amounts of subjects, in which it was proven that the result was accurate and can be used by healthcare professionals to make necessary improvement in the workplace. The overall reliability for the study was .93, and the retest to make sure that the result is solid and can be trusted was almost the same. The validity of the study shows a firm association in that positive outcomes can derive from learning how to correctly communicate in the healthcare settings. Per Schaffer, Sandau, and Diedrick, (2012). Evidence-based practice is a paradigm and life-long problem-solving approach to clinical decision-making that involves the conscientious use of the best available evidence (p. 1198)
Determine fit, feasibility, and appropriateness of the result for your practice setting.
I can see that using certain information from the study that show a positive association on the outcome of the problem will surely take precedence in what I need to accomplish by using EBP to make change. The following four factors from the study put together the general idea that providers can use when they need to increase communication in the practice setting. Knowing these facts will help put the focus on the importance of what matter to patients. Per Ya-huei and Hung-Chang (2019), these factors are: “1- perception of trust and receptivity, 2- patient-centered information giving, 3- rapport building, and 4- facilitation of patient involvement+ (p. 7, 8). Knowing the focus area will help put into perspective the change process and will have a better chance to succeed. As stated in the result of the study the number of subjects were enough to deduct that the study can be used as evidence to make change in the workplace.
Using Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA), outline an action plan.
The PDSA model is a great tool that provider can use to establish a ground rule in order to implement a change that is needed at the workplace. An action plan in this instance is the strategy that will be used to make the implemented change successful. Per Mennella and Balderrama, (2017), the component of the PDSA in which

Why are organizations encouraged to develop a culture of safety? How can a culture of safety be achieved? How can a culture of safety be assessed? Research and identify an article discussing a healthcare organization e.g. hospital, nursing home, surgery center, patient care facility etc. that has implemented innovative safety operations to reduce corporate risk. Summarize three to four main points from your selected article. Cite the article in APA format as part of your post.
Why are organizations encouraged to develop a culture of safety?
Health care organizations are encouraged to create a safety culture to minimize the risk of injury and/or death to the patient as well as the employees due to everyday common mistakes ( Pogzar,2012). For example many times patients who have had invasive procedures develop sepsis while still in the hospital; this is due to carelessness of the treating staff when caring for the open wound. With employees a simple thing such as getting a flu shot can provide a safer, healthier environment for both parties, while reducing absences in the work place.
How can a culture of safety be achieved?
A culture of safety has to come from the top down, meaning that it must be demonstrated by management all the way down to the entry level employees in order for the collective efforts to make a difference in the way patient care is monitored and flowed. The vision set forth by the organization must be a realistic and one that motivates the employees to walk in the way of the vision. Most important is that the culture is able to evolve with technology and changing healthcare regulations. Mostly a culture of safety has to be one of commitment by all involved in the daily workflow.
How can a culture of safety be assessed?
Many organizations use benchmarking to assess where they stand amongst their peers, meaning how they fair against other organizations of the same size that provide the same services that they do. This can also be done by developing programs for patient safety and tracking the rate of which incidents are occur before, during, and after the roll out of the programs. The most important part of the assessment is being sure that the mandatory regulations are being upheld and carried out to standards.
Organization
In the article Sentara Healthcare: Making Patient Safety an Enduring Organizational Value, it speaks of how the organization as a whole was doing poorly compared to peer organizations. In today’s era businesses are growing at a very fast
pace and to be in existence every organization has
realized the fact that in order to succeed in the
current cut throat competitive market, treating
and constantly upgrading their employees has
become very essential. For this purpose job rotation
is a technique adopted by many organizations
to train their employees. The importance of
job rotation, as a mean of enhancing skills,
knowledge and abilities of an individual to
improve the overall organizational mechanics has
become evident to any organization. Job rotation
has become the need of the hour for most of the
organization and is a fast emerging domain of
research in the field of human resource.
This study reveals the perception & views of
banking sector employees in relation to job
rotation techniques. Positional variables of the
employees were analyzed with respect to the
employees’ perception regarding Job Rotation
technique. Data were collected using a self administered questionnaire from 125 Bank
employees working in the various banks situated
in Faridabad. Collected data was further
analyzed using “Mean Score” as a statistical tool.
The finding of the research revealed that most of
the employees perceive job rotation as a technique
which stimulates their individual growth, reduces
boredom and also act as a tool for fast learning.
The study suggest that organizations should
consider the perception and needs of individual
employees for successful implementation of job
rotation in an organization for overall benefit
of the individuals and organizations. The
researchers also believes that the current research
would help organizations in redesigning the job
rotation tool in order to enhance the quality of
the employees’ workforce and overall quality of
the organization’s output which is in fact the

(May 29th, 2024) Advancements in Intravital Microscopy- Insights for Preclini...Scintica Instrumentation
Intravital microscopy (IVM) is a powerful tool utilized to study cellular behavior over time and space in vivo. Much of our understanding of cell biology has been accomplished using various in vitro and ex vivo methods; however, these studies do not necessarily reflect the natural dynamics of biological processes. Unlike traditional cell culture or fixed tissue imaging, IVM allows for the ultra-fast high-resolution imaging of cellular processes over time and space and were studied in its natural environment. Real-time visualization of biological processes in the context of an intact organism helps maintain physiological relevance and provide insights into the progression of disease, response to treatments or developmental processes.
In this webinar we give an overview of advanced applications of the IVM system in preclinical research. IVIM technology is a provider of all-in-one intravital microscopy systems and solutions optimized for in vivo imaging of live animal models at sub-micron resolution. The system’s unique features and user-friendly software enables researchers to probe fast dynamic biological processes such as immune cell tracking, cell-cell interaction as well as vascularization and tumor metastasis with exceptional detail. This webinar will also give an overview of IVM being utilized in drug development, offering a view into the intricate interaction between drugs/nanoparticles and tissues in vivo and allows for the evaluation of therapeutic intervention in a variety of tissues and organs. This interdisciplinary collaboration continues to drive the advancements of novel therapeutic strategies.
Introduction:
RNA interference (RNAi) or Post-Transcriptional Gene Silencing (PTGS) is an important biological process for modulating eukaryotic gene expression.
It is highly conserved process of posttranscriptional gene silencing by which double stranded RNA (dsRNA) causes sequence-specific degradation of mRNA sequences.
dsRNA-induced gene silencing (RNAi) is reported in a wide range of eukaryotes ranging from worms, insects, mammals and plants.
This process mediates resistance to both endogenous parasitic and exogenous pathogenic nucleic acids, and regulates the expression of protein-coding genes.
What are small ncRNAs?
micro RNA (miRNA)
short interfering RNA (siRNA)
Properties of small non-coding RNA:
Involved in silencing mRNA transcripts.
Called “small” because they are usually only about 21-24 nucleotides long.
Synthesized by first cutting up longer precursor sequences (like the 61nt one that Lee discovered).
Silence an mRNA by base pairing with some sequence on the mRNA.
Discovery of siRNA?
The first small RNA:
In 1993 Rosalind Lee (Victor Ambros lab) was studying a non- coding gene in C. elegans, lin-4, that was involved in silencing of another gene, lin-14, at the appropriate time in the
development of the worm C. elegans.
Two small transcripts of lin-4 (22nt and 61nt) were found to be complementary to a sequence in the 3' UTR of lin-14.
Because lin-4 encoded no protein, she deduced that it must be these transcripts that are causing the silencing by RNA-RNA interactions.
Types of RNAi ( non coding RNA)
MiRNA
Length (23-25 nt)
Trans acting
Binds with target MRNA in mismatch
Translation inhibition
Si RNA
Length 21 nt.
Cis acting
Bind with target Mrna in perfect complementary sequence
Piwi-RNA
Length ; 25 to 36 nt.
Expressed in Germ Cells
Regulates trnasposomes activity
MECHANISM OF RNAI:
First the double-stranded RNA teams up with a protein complex named Dicer, which cuts the long RNA into short pieces.
Then another protein complex called RISC (RNA-induced silencing complex) discards one of the two RNA strands.
The RISC-docked, single-stranded RNA then pairs with the homologous mRNA and destroys it.
THE RISC COMPLEX:
RISC is large(>500kD) RNA multi- protein Binding complex which triggers MRNA degradation in response to MRNA
Unwinding of double stranded Si RNA by ATP independent Helicase
Active component of RISC is Ago proteins( ENDONUCLEASE) which cleave target MRNA.
DICER: endonuclease (RNase Family III)
Argonaute: Central Component of the RNA-Induced Silencing Complex (RISC)
One strand of the dsRNA produced by Dicer is retained in the RISC complex in association with Argonaute
ARGONAUTE PROTEIN :
1.PAZ(PIWI/Argonaute/ Zwille)- Recognition of target MRNA
2.PIWI (p-element induced wimpy Testis)- breaks Phosphodiester bond of mRNA.)RNAse H activity.
MiRNA:
The Double-stranded RNAs are naturally produced in eukaryotic cells during development, and they have a key role in regulating gene expression .
THE IMPORTANCE OF MARTIAN ATMOSPHERE SAMPLE RETURN.Sérgio Sacani
The return of a sample of near-surface atmosphere from Mars would facilitate answers to several first-order science questions surrounding the formation and evolution of the planet. One of the important aspects of terrestrial planet formation in general is the role that primary atmospheres played in influencing the chemistry and structure of the planets and their antecedents. Studies of the martian atmosphere can be used to investigate the role of a primary atmosphere in its history. Atmosphere samples would also inform our understanding of the near-surface chemistry of the planet, and ultimately the prospects for life. High-precision isotopic analyses of constituent gases are needed to address these questions, requiring that the analyses are made on returned samples rather than in situ.
Professional air quality monitoring systems provide immediate, on-site data for analysis, compliance, and decision-making.
Monitor common gases, weather parameters, particulates.
The increased availability of biomedical data, particularly in the public domain, offers the opportunity to better understand human health and to develop effective therapeutics for a wide range of unmet medical needs. However, data scientists remain stymied by the fact that data remain hard to find and to productively reuse because data and their metadata i) are wholly inaccessible, ii) are in non-standard or incompatible representations, iii) do not conform to community standards, and iv) have unclear or highly restricted terms and conditions that preclude legitimate reuse. These limitations require a rethink on data can be made machine and AI-ready - the key motivation behind the FAIR Guiding Principles. Concurrently, while recent efforts have explored the use of deep learning to fuse disparate data into predictive models for a wide range of biomedical applications, these models often fail even when the correct answer is already known, and fail to explain individual predictions in terms that data scientists can appreciate. These limitations suggest that new methods to produce practical artificial intelligence are still needed.
In this talk, I will discuss our work in (1) building an integrative knowledge infrastructure to prepare FAIR and "AI-ready" data and services along with (2) neurosymbolic AI methods to improve the quality of predictions and to generate plausible explanations. Attention is given to standards, platforms, and methods to wrangle knowledge into simple, but effective semantic and latent representations, and to make these available into standards-compliant and discoverable interfaces that can be used in model building, validation, and explanation. Our work, and those of others in the field, creates a baseline for building trustworthy and easy to deploy AI models in biomedicine.

2. It was great to be able to share some ideas with
the AOA
My recent work delivering a human factors
course to fire service and healthcare
professionals gave some useful feed back and
inspired a literature search into inter-agency
learning (a topic on which there is a paucity of
data)
The feedback showed that the inter-agency
aspect of the course was a key feature to its
success
3. Every industry/professional group has a set
of values, beliefs, norms and behaviours.
Inter-agency collaboration removes
individuals from some of their professional,
cultural norms
It allows them to see their profession from
another’s perspective, TRANSFORMING their
view of them selves and their professional
group.
4. Discussion and inter-agency working allows
individuals to reflect upon their personal and
organisational performance
Such analysis can afford new insight into the
positive elements in their own and their
organisational performance,
they will identify and describe what they do
right in order to explain to another
5. Resilience engineering defines safety as the
ability to succeed under varying conditions.
Consequently it is equally important to
understand why things go right
It is easier to increase safety by improving the
number of things that go right than by
reducing the number of things that go wrong
Editor's Notes
I was asked to share something from my experience with you that is a new concept, a challenge or a solution and I believe that this fulfils all of those criteria, so here is my experience
This year Myself and Si Hamilton formMARFFS delivered an inter agency human factors course for fire service and health care, the course went well and feedback it generated lead to these ideas. so
This allows them to separate themselves momentarily form the cultural norms of their profession, id those values that fit with their personal values, those that enhance and those that restrict it is transformative
This was particularly apparent when the fire service who have well established use of hf tools and routines were describing their work and understanding of case to the medical profession where there are less formal rules, more unspoken routines and more variable use of tools
