4. HISTORY
 Originated in Greece(Yunan), this system travelled to
many countries before coming to India.
 Came to India around 8th century.
 Substantially based on Ibn Sina’s The Canon of
Medicine.
 Royal patronage meant development of Unani practice
in India

7. SIDDHA
 Originated in Tamil nadu and Sri lanka.
 Close relation with Dravidian culture.
 Siddha means “ACHIEVEMENT”.
 Agastyas is considered the first Siddha and gurus of all siddhars.
 It was handed over to him by Murugan, son of Shiva and Parvati.
 Focused on “Ashtamahasiddhi” the eight supernatural power.
 Practised intense yogic practices including years of periodic fasting and
meditation.

8. DIAGNOSIS & DISEASES
 Normal equilibrium of humors are disturbed, disease is caused.
 Vaadham, Pittham, kapam.
 Factors could be environmental, climatic condition, diet, physical
activities and stress.
 Under normal condition ratio is 4:2:1.
 Diet and lifestyle play a major role in health and in curing diseases.
