The document discusses deep learning including popular programming languages for deep learning like Protobuf/Lua, Python, and Java. It covers convolutional neural networks and how they process input images through convolution layers and activation maps to reduce their size. Examples of famous deep learning models are provided from 1998 to the present like LeNet, AlexNet, VGGNet, and ResNet. Resources for deep learning papers, demos, and preparing for the future of AI are also listed.
With a strong focus on annotations, minimalist configuration, simple deployment, intelligent defaults and Java centric type-safety, Java EE is one of the most productive full-stack development platforms around today. This very code centric workshop is a quick tour of the Java EE platform as it stands today. If you haven't seen Java EE for a while and want to catch up, this session is definitely for you.
We will start with the basic principals of what Java EE is and what it is not, overview the platform at a high level and then dive into each key API like JSF, CDI, EJB 3, JPA, JAX-RS, WebSocket and JMS using examples and demos. This is your chance to look at Java EE 7 in the context of a realistic application named Cargo Tracker, available with an MIT license at http://cargotracker.java.net.
We will also briefly take a look at the emerging horizons of Java EE 8.
This document summarizes several design patterns used in Java EE, including Singleton, Abstract Factory, Facade, Decorator, Observer, MVC, and Domain Driven Design. It provides examples of how each pattern can be implemented in Java EE using annotations like @Singleton, @Produces, @Stateless, @Inject, and more. It also briefly discusses the pros and cons of implementing these patterns in Java EE.
In this session, we take a look at a handful of the features that will be part of the upcoming Java EE 8 release, as well as a few of the existing features that can be utilized in Java EE 7 today. Each of the features are presented via a recipe in the "Problem", "Solution", and "How it Works" format.
This document discusses upcoming features in Java EE 8, including enhancements to JAX-RS 2.1, JSON-P 1.1, and server-sent events. Some key changes are the addition of reactive client APIs and non-blocking I/O in JAX-RS providers, support for JSON pointer and patch operations in JSON-P, and new classes for server-sent events on both the client and server sides.

New specifications include JCache 1.0, JSON-B 1.0, MVC 1.0, and Java EE Security API 1.0. Java EE 8 is currently in development, with early drafts of specifications and milestones available to provide feedback on. A final release is planned for Q3 2016.
Java EE 8: What Servlet 4 and HTTP2 MeanAlex Theedom
The goal of HTTP/2 is to increase the perceived performance of the web browsing experience. This is achieved by multiplexing over TCP and Server Push among other techniques. What implications does this have for developers? How does Servlet 4.0 embrace HTTP/2? We will see, with code examples, what the future of developing with HTTP/2 might look like.
JavaScript Frameworks and Java EE – A Great MatchReza Rahman
JavaScript frameworks are becoming more popular for building rich clients. Java EE is well-positioned as a backend for JavaScript rich clients, providing capabilities like JAX-RS for REST, the Java API for WebSocket, and JSON processing. The document presents an architecture with the client handling UI rendering and basic logic and the server managing business logic, data, and communication via REST, WebSocket, and server-sent events. It provides a demo on GitHub showing how Java EE can integrate with JavaScript frameworks.
Down-to-Earth Microservices with Java EEReza Rahman
Microservices have become the new kid of the buzzword block in our ever colorful industry. In this session we will explore what microservices really mean within the relatively well established context of distributed computing/SOA, when they make sense and how to develop them using the lightweight, simple, productive Java EE programming model.
We'll explore microservices using a simple but representative example using Java EE. You'll see how the Java EE programming model and APIs like JAX-RS, WebSocket, JSON-P, JSON-B, Bean Validation, CDI, JPA, EJB 3, JMS 2 and JTA aligns with the concept of microservices.
It may or may not surprise you to learn in the end that you already know more about microservices than you realize and that it is an architectural style that does not really require you to learn an entirely new tool set beyond the ones you already have. You might even see that Java EE is a particularly powerful and elegant tool set for developing microservices.

This document provides an overview of wound healing, its functions, stages, mechanisms, factors affecting it, and complications.
A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.
THE SACRIFICE HOW PRO-PALESTINE PROTESTS STUDENTS ARE SACRIFICING TO CHANGE T...indexPub
The recent surge in pro-Palestine student activism has prompted significant responses from universities, ranging from negotiations and divestment commitments to increased transparency about investments in companies supporting the war on Gaza. This activism has led to the cessation of student encampments but also highlighted the substantial sacrifices made by students, including academic disruptions and personal risks. The primary drivers of these protests are poor university administration, lack of transparency, and inadequate communication between officials and students. This study examines the profound emotional, psychological, and professional impacts on students engaged in pro-Palestine protests, focusing on Generation Z's (Gen-Z) activism dynamics. This paper explores the significant sacrifices made by these students and even the professors supporting the pro-Palestine movement, with a focus on recent global movements. Through an in-depth analysis of printed and electronic media, the study examines the impacts of these sacrifices on the academic and personal lives of those involved. The paper highlights examples from various universities, demonstrating student activism's long-term and short-term effects, including disciplinary actions, social backlash, and career implications. The researchers also explore the broader implications of student sacrifices. The findings reveal that these sacrifices are driven by a profound commitment to justice and human rights, and are influenced by the increasing availability of information, peer interactions, and personal convictions. The study also discusses the broader implications of this activism, comparing it to historical precedents and assessing its potential to influence policy and public opinion. The emotional and psychological toll on student activists is significant, but their sense of purpose and community support mitigates some of these challenges. However, the researchers call for acknowledging the broader Impact of these sacrifices on the future global movement of FreePalestine.
