This document discusses how governments can become more efficient by moving paper-based processes to digital solutions. It estimates that converting forms to digital would save millions of working hours spent on paperwork, free up billions of dollars spent on paper resources, and save thousands of trees used for paper. The document promotes More Software Solutions as offering a platform-as-a-service called "Compose" that allows building web and mobile applications to digitize and streamline government processes like forms and case management. More has experience providing e-government solutions to many Norwegian government agencies and municipalities.

Insight DX - Environmental Data Exchange Hack WeekendDigital Catapult
The document discusses InsightDX, an API that aggregates and filters open environmental datasets according to location, making the data easier to use. It solves the problems that environmental data is scattered across different sources and formats, and tying multiple datasets to a single location is challenging. InsightDX aims to make open data more meaningful and accessible for service creators and data users, allowing them to focus on creating valuable tools and services rather than struggling to find and use relevant datasets. The prototype and business model are being validated with potential partners, customers and early adopters working with open environmental data.
This document discusses data driving and how it relates to data mining. It notes that data driving is similar to data mining, but with data being directed in one direction. It describes how the data-driven make decisions using as much diverse data as possible to develop a deeper understanding. Driving data in a particular direction can help obtain high quality decisions and learn from mistakes, though it may take a large amount of time to collect and analyze the data. The document concludes that data needs to be driven in a particular direction to represent the best quality output.

Big data is a broad term for data sets so large or complex that traditional data processing applications are inadequate. Challenges include analysis, capture, data curation, search, sharing, storage, transfer, visualization, and information privacy.
Start With Why: Build Product Progress with a Strong Data CultureAggregage
Have you ever thought your product's progress was headed in one direction, and been shocked to see a different story reflected in big picture KPIs like revenue? It can be confusing when customer feedback or metrics like registration or retention are painting a different picture. No matter how sophisticated your analytics are, if you're asking the wrong questions - or looking at the wrong metrics - you're going to have trouble getting answers that can help you.
Join Nima Gardideh, CTO of Pearmill, as he demonstrates how to build a strong data culture within your team, so everyone understands which metrics they should actually focus on - and why. Then, he'll explain how you can use your analytics to regularly review progress and successes. Finally, he'll discuss what you should keep in mind when instrumenting your analytics.

Building a Data Strategy Your C-Suite Will SupportReid Colson
Being a data leader in any industry is an advantage that creates measurable financial benefits. Many studies have shown this – I’ve seen them from Bain, McKinsey, MIT and more. Since most firms are measured on profit, getting good at making data driven decisions is a key to being competitive. You can't get there without a plan. That is where a data strategy comes in.
In speaking with ~300 firms who indicated that their organizations were effective in using data and analytics, McKinsey found that construction of a data strategy was the number one contributing factor to their success. Being good at using data to drive decisions creates a meaningful profit advantage and those who are leaders indicated that the number one driver of their success was their data strategy.
This presentation will cover what a data strategy is, how to construct one, and how to get buy in from your executive team. The author is a former Fortune 500 Chief Data Officer and has held senior data roles at Capital One and Markel.

The potential benefits and the possible pitfalls will be highlighted, providing a balanced view of the subject.
We will explore the capabilities of AI in understanding XML markup languages and autonomously creating structured XML content. Additionally, we will examine the capacity of AI to enrich plain text with appropriate XML markup. Practical examples and methodological guidelines will be provided to elucidate how AI can be effectively prompted to interpret and generate accurate XML markup.
Further emphasis will be placed on the role of AI in developing XSLT, or schemas such as XSD and Schematron. We will address the techniques and strategies adopted to create prompts for generating code, explaining code, or refactoring the code, and the results achieved.
The discussion will extend to how AI can be used to transform XML content. In particular, the focus will be on the use of AI XPath extension functions in XSLT, Schematron, Schematron Quick Fixes, or for XML content refactoring.
The presentation aims to deliver a comprehensive overview of AI usage in XML development, providing attendees with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions. Whether you’re at the early stages of adopting AI or considering integrating it in advanced XML development, this presentation will cover all levels of expertise.
By highlighting the potential advantages and challenges of integrating AI with XML development tools and languages, the presentation seeks to inspire thoughtful conversation around the future of XML development. We’ll not only delve into the technical aspects of AI-powered XML development but also discuss practical implications and possible future directions.
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.
