The music video will tell the story of a boy and girl through different stages of their lives. In the beginning, a young boy peeks through a door and sees a young girl playing with makeup and gold jewelry at a vanity. Later scenes will show the same two characters as teenagers enjoying each other's company. The video will cut between shots of the singing narrator and the couple to show the passage of time. It aims to tie the themes of gold from the song title to the girl's jewelry without overly sexualizing the children.

Science and the Young Child
This is a resource about how Neurology and Play are incorporated into developmentally appropriate science activities utilizing the essential questioning skills of scientific inquiry in young children.
2. Details of the Music Video
A little boy will peek through the door into an adults room to see a
little girl in front of a vanity mirror. A match on match shot would be
key for this, to focus on the action of opening the door.
She might have make up on her face, although this will be messy
and flawed, as so to not be seen to encourage the sexualisation of
children, but to show her innocently trying her mothers make up on.
She will also be trying on, in particular, gold pieces of jewellery to
tie in with the theme of the song, hence the title ‘Gold’.
Interjecting shots of the girl as a teenager will be shown throughout,
running parallel to the story of the couple, however she will be in
front of a green screen as she mimes the lyrics to narrate the story.
This will allow us to add colourful lights and back drops, giving a
hypnotic atmosphere to compliment the electronic sounds that
jump and flitter around the original, mellow track itself.
3. Details of the Music Video
There will then be a passing of a few years within the
music video and then it will show an older boy then
opening the same door to reveal an older girl sat in front
of the mirror fixing her make up and handling gold
jewellery. This storyline will run throughout the entire
video.
Whilst also playing the close up shots of the singer, this
will cut to the teenage couple, with shots varying ‘mid
two’ and ‘long shots’ to follow the couple as they mess
around, enjoying each others company.
4. Details of the Music Video
Location- The video will begin being set inside a parents bedroom, with the little girl
infront of a vanity mirror. A city street/Patch of green/Footpath could be used to film
the actions of the couple in motion.
Mise En Scene- The room will be filled with the typical furniture, however the focus is
on the mirror, littered with a collection of gold jewellery and make up in front of the
girl. The location will speak for itself, rather than focusing mainly on props.
Costumes- Girl/Boy casual clothes, both young and old. However the little girl/boy
can possibly be in fancy dress to indicate the fact that fact that they are young
children.
Change in Time- There should be an indication of many years passing throughout
the video, with the use of two older characters to play the young children having
grown up. However, both should be shot in the same room to keep the location the
same.
Singer- A singer/’narrator’ who will mime the lyrics of the song, these shots
interjecting the storyline of the boy and girl to show contrast and depth to the
video. This will be performed in front of a green screen.
