• If you don’t vote you really have no right to
complain about government decisions you
don’t like.
• It sets a positive example to your children, your
neighbors and your friends.
• Failing to register to vote is the same as saying
“I don’t care!”
• Voting means you believe in the democratic
process, It represents your right to freedom of
speech.
3. Why Should You Vote?
• If you do not register to vote, you are missing
out a significant personal freedom.
• When you vote, you honor the sacrifices that
Soldiers make in fighting for our freedom.
• It is an HONOR as well as a
RESPONSIBILITY.
• The reality is, your vote counts!
4. To be eligible to register to vote in Pakistan
a person must:
• Be a Pakistani National.
• Be 18 years.
• Does not claim the right to vote in any other
State.
• Does not cast vote more than one place.
• Not currently declared mentally incompetent
by a court of law.
5. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• To treat election officials with the same courtesy and
respect they must give you;
• To show a valid Computerized National identity Card
(CNIC);
• To ask for help;
• To make sure your ballot is correct BEFORE casting
it. You cannot cast another ballot.

• To be treated with courtesy and respect by
election officials.
• To get help from election officials if you are
unsure about the voting process.
• To be shown how the voting equipment works.
• You may have an officer of election or another
person help you vote if you are physically
disabled.
Remember that the next time you hear someone moaning about how bad things are in government. Ask them if they voted. Then you will know whether they are worth listening to.

For example, if you do not know how to use voting equipment, or need help casting your ballot because of a physical disability or inability to read or write.
You can ask the election official to call the General Registrar’s office BEFORE you leave the polling place if you have problems regarding your eligibility to vote or the casting of your vote.
Remember you can still vote even if you do not have your ID with you, but save time and aggravation, make sure you have it with you before leaving home.
