The Global Mental Health Program at Columbia University, in collaboration with the WHO and AIIMS, conducted a series of programs in India on mental health and social justice. The programs pursued global mental health research, a symposium on gender, youth and social justice, and discussions with an international advisory board. Over 11,000 clinicians joined a global clinical practice network, and research informed the development of the ICD-11. The symposium addressed the lack of funding for mental health and its relation to social justice. Speakers discussed issues facing women and disadvantaged groups in India. The advisory board visited NGOs providing services for at-risk groups.
