• Some of these fonts were chosen to fit against the color of the background and stand out next to the picture. For the fanzine
I decided to choose the font ‘1942 report’ because it has a grainy texture and the wording fits the font hence the word ‘King’
and how they used to present that in writing. The other fonts are mainly the bold ones, with the majority of the designs
being on a red background it was a dark color against another dark color so if it was bold it would still catch the eye. The
fonts I’ve chosen are also quite similar in that the lettering is quite close together, I wouldn’t have liked the letters being too
spaced out especially in the middle of the page as it looks tacky and diverts the eye. Some of the fonts I recycled from a
previous unit and from other designs because they worked well in either white or black color. Some of the bigger bolder
fonts I wanted to put on the fanzine because it pushes the whole cover together and creates a tightness to it looking good,
along with the tabloid too I think the fonts bring an overall finish to the product, the different type faces work well with each
other, I also think having the fonts in black and white emphasize the different points along the work. I had to find fonts that
would compliment what I was saying i.e. having a brush effect brings an edgier taste and mixes it up without looking bad. I
think that the best font choice I had was on the fanzine – the fonts are simple but work in an order next to the images as
well as reading down the page. For the fanzine I tried to include fonts that the football club use to replicate their style and
shows I have included my target market and thought about the style rather than picking a font and using it.
