The Holy Family High School Ex-Students Association continued meeting monthly in 2008 to serve as a bridge between the school and its alumni. The Association had 2,247 registered members by the end of 2008, including 170 new members from the 2007-2008 graduating class. Throughout the year, the Association organized vocational guidance programs, dance competitions, a nutrition program, magazine subscriptions for the library, and maintained their website. They also recognized the retirement of three teachers and collected information on the 2009 graduating class.

‘TAKALE CHARITABLE TRUST’ has been established to spread Education & Computer literacy among masses. Trust runs it’s own Computer Institute for poor & needy students. Trust mainly works for Youth empowerment, Science Communication / Popularisation, Social Forestry, Conservation of Natural resources & Protection of wild life. Trust also organizes free medical camps at remote, tribal areas. All the activities of Trust are managed & funded by Santosh Takale.
Trust organizes All India level, Open essay competition on current, happening topics. Till date SEZ-Merits & Demerits, Global warming & Social Forestry, Human Society & Superstitions are the topics covered. The intent was to spread awareness among masses.
Trust annually felicitates Citizens, Teachers & NGO’s involved in philanthropic work, Science Communication & eradication of superstitions, to encourage such social activities in society.
As a part of self initiative for Youth empowerment, science communication, eradication of superstitions & Conservation of Natural resources/Wild life, various sessions/lectures are conducted in School, Colleges & Villages free of cost. Till date (Aug-2013) more than 350 numbers of such programs are conducted all over India & approximately 70000 numbers of general public has been addressed.
Trust has it’s GURUKUL at Shirdhon, Panvel, Raigad, MH-410206. The center works on objective of ‘Building better citizen for Better World’. Economically backward students are provided with healthy food for body as well as Mind. These students are guided & groomed by experts to choose their independent & ethical path of life.

1. ANNUAL REPORT OF THE HOLY FAMILY EX-STUDENTS ASSOCIATION FROM JAN 2008 - DEC 2008.
The Holy Family High School Ex-Students Association continued its efforts as a bridge between the school and its Alumni
in the year 2008.
The Association had earlier drawn up its association and had pledged to meet at least once a month on the third Sunday
of each month at 11.00 am in the school library. Over the period January 2008 – December 2008, this association has
met 12 times. And as on December 31st 2008 has 2247 registered members. The latest entrants being 170 members from
2007-08 pass-out batch.
The Ex-Students Association would like to place on record the unstinting support given by Fr. Swamy (Principal), Sister
Iona (Vice Principal), Helene George (Teacher), Mrs. Dande (Teacher), Mrs Bina Verghese (Teacher) & all the teachers
of the school, Office staff and peons through out the past year.
Pawan Pruthi was elected as the President of the Association. Fr. Francis Swamy, the Principal of Holy Family High
School, is the Ex-Officio vice-President of the association. Sister Iona (Vice Principal) is a permanent member of the core
committee as also is the Headmistress Sister Jacintha Cutinha.

Some of the highlights of the activities from January 2008 to December 2008 are as follows:
1) Vocational Guidance Program and Career Counseling – Your association organized a Vocational guidance
program in August’2008 in the school Hall. Ms. Shailaja Mulay, a professional Vocational Guidance and an expert
counsellor, conducted this program. The program was a huge success judging by the attendance of parents and
students of Std Xth. 147 Englsh medium and 109 Maathi medium students attended the program. The speaker
gave details on the choices available for students after finishing school. Basic faculties of Arts, Science,
Commerce, post graduation courses and career prospects were covered. Subsequently a written Aptitude test
was arranged for the student in the school. A final counseling with each student and their parents was conducted.
2) Inter School Dance Competition (PQR) Puzzles, Quizzes and Riddles – Your association organized Inter-
School PQR Competition on 23rd Aug 2008. Teams from 9 schools from the Andheri & Vile Parle participated in
the competition. The Rolling Shield was won by Lady Vissanji High School and individual prizes were won by
students from other neighboring schools. This time your association was able to procure sponsorship for the event
from V2 Solutions Navi Mumbai. This sponsorship and the PQR competition were made possible by the inspired
efforts of our President, Pawan Pruthi.
3) Adopt a child and Nutrition program – The nutrition program now provides breakfast to 35 students. The
program is running successfully for the last few years. In the year 2008 year the program offered breakfast to
students from January to April & from August to December.
4) Magazines for School Library - In November 2006, the association initiated an annual subscription for the
following magazines for the secondary school library that was continued in 2008.
a. Navneet News House – Weekly magazine
b. SportStar – Weekly Magazine
c. Gokulam – Monthly Magazine
5) Retirement of School Staff - Mrs. Snehal Dande, Mr.Christopher Dsouza and Mrs.Hazel Palli retired in the year
2008. Pawan Pruthi, Siddesh Pawar and Sujata Swamy had attended the farewell ceremony as the President,
Vice President and Secretary of the Association. Token amounts to each via cheques were presented to the
retiring teacher as a souvenir for their service towards the school and their students.
2. 6) Holy Family Ex-Students Website – In December 2006 the association tied up with an application service
provider to launch its very own website – www.holyfamilyexstudents.org . A basic website is up and running.
Pages with announcements of events have been added. Grateful thanks to Akshay Farro who has lent a helping
hand for its functioning during 2008 too.
7) Database of 2009 batch – The association collected the database of the 10th standard students passing out in
year 2009. The data contains addresses and photographs of the 10th standard students and photographs of
teachers. To save on costs, it was decided that this will be hosted on the website and hence CD distribution was
done away with. The individual ID cards for these students are being made.
8) JAAI West Region Congress – was held in Ahmedabad in Oct 2008. Pawan Pruthi and John Neelankavil, from
your association attended the same.
