- Income from house property is taxed on a notional basis and includes any building with characteristic features of a building such as residential buildings or cinemas. - For a property to be considered under the head house property, it must be owned by the assessee and not used for their own business or profession. - The annual value of a property is its expected rental income and may be taken as actual rent received in some cases, with exceptions for vacant properties.
